Mel, They didn't need to phone Air Asia. Centrelink can access your immigration records and see when you have flown in & out of Australia during the last 20 years. It was in the paperwork I got for my SSAT hearing, though it didn't need to be there..... Hi yes i know they do that but this ARO had booking details including booking information on those booking numbers where I had changed flights due to needing med ext & is accusing me with a copy of my 1st return ticket in his hands of not booking a return ticket when I left Australia. That was spooky, even though he's wrong he has stuff not recorded on immigration. So much for airline privacy They can only access flights in and out of Australia and check departure/arrival cards to see where you have been. They CAN get info off of airlines, they pinged me a few years back booking a return flight to Australia in Bangkok which could have only have come from the airline. However they had NO proof that I either paid for that booking OR took the flight, as was clearly pointed out in my SSAT appeal. I'd call his bluff if I were you, Air Asia has several branches, I'd certainly demand to see the copy of the transaction.

A long forgotten that fits a few here. Now you are showing your age BanjoI can do the harmonica/mouth organ stuff. Used to have a complete set of Hohner Harps once. Did enjoy 'mucking' around with a mandolin also. I used to enjoy playing it with a violin bow as well. Great resonance. Love the track.

I've seen electric guitar played with a violin bow, Jimmy Page springs to mind.

this is now old section as last post almost a year ago so i will refresh it with my sad travel story in the once great city of Melbourne. Arrived southern cross station at 5.00 p.m. 6 hours before flight to dangerous city of Bangkok.Don't want 6 hours at airport so go to luggage hall to leave my main bag. Sorry new rules. You cannot leave bags unless they were checked in at start of train trip. I show ticket and say i do it every time. Must use lockers he says. So off i go and put my bag in and after creating a PIN it says i must confirm it. A "nice young girl helps me and off i go coming back later to find it empty. She noticed my PIN and ten minutes later came back. All on CCTV. Not a thing of value to her but to me all my new clothes medicine and homesick food not to mention the back pack itself. So with 3 hours before flight i ring up and change it. Total loss of A$2,500. Three nights in Melbourne, lost domestic flight. New bag alone A$400.00. So be warned , do not trust any stranger anywhere. Police say Melbourne has worst ice problem in the world. Homeless every where. But will get over it which i still havn't done after 4 years from C'link and Krystals story along with all the others puts it in to context. So no sympathy wanted or needed. It really is hard to believe there are THINGS out there that resemble humans. Just take care as you never can tell.

Jeez Nomadic, you're having a run of bad luck. Targeting disabled people like yourself is as low as it gets, but as long as the government virtually ignores drug abuse and the problems it causes it will go on.
Only reading an article this weekend about new vote gathering "tough on crime" measures being touted in Victoria, while drug programs that have been successful world wide are ignored.

Nomadic, you have certainly been a good contributor to this forum and I hope that "what goes around, comes around"....both for your good deeds, and those of the creature who robbed you.
And just as a reminder to those travelling O/S : pickpockets abound, even in "safe" places like Singapore.
Years ago I was at a bus stop and a few people were pushing around me to get on. A man up at the bus door was baulking at getting on and pretending he didn't know where the bus was going. Another man next to me appeared to be being pushed against me, and I could feel briefcase being pushed against my waist. He looked up at me apologetically.
It was only after I got on the bus that I realized my wallet was gone. I (foolishly) had a lot of money in it...I had just gone to the bank. I had sensed someone behind me looking into my wallet in a shop down the road, but people in Malaysia and Singapore do that a lot anyway. They're real stickybeaks.
I had thought that pushing was a bit odd in Singapore and almost rotated my body and pushed my way out of there, but politeness prevented me.
Everybody : beware of people pushing whilst you are getting onto boats, buses etc.

I had my pocket picked in the PI years ago on a jeepney. One guy dropped a few coins on the floor and I bent over to help him pick it up.
When I got off at the depot another guy handed me my wallet, smiled, and walked off. Every thing was in it except the cash.

Thanks all but i'm now back in Paiadise or Utopai (not typo's), so all is well (I HOPE) for another year. And two things i always say. 1. As long as something comes out after i push the buttons on the ATM then all is well. 2. There is always someone worse off than you and someone better off. So a coffee in Chiang Rai will be the most dangerous thing I do this year from now on. Mid July.

Sure, I'll send out a group email and see who else we can organise. I'm not keen on doing it last minute though, I need to think about staying over if I'm not up to a return trip the same day.
