www.adolphus.me.uk/emx/simply/paragraph.htm ;D Well you've given me a little hope for my UP application, the lack of a brain should certainly put my assessment points through the roof. Seriously, I think the strength of the dollar is overrated, regarding the baht it's about 10% higher (32.5) than a couple of years ago but what about the times we struggled along on 26 and lower. I don't think it's about balance of payments, the DSP would be a fraction of what goes out on the OAP and I genuinely believe those guys are untouchable. Bring some of those guys home and they are either gonna die thinking about it or en route. And rest assured, Banjo will be there with his camera to document this modern day Trail of Tears. I think the UP can be done, maybe not by me, I can see now I never followed the bouncing ball but I think we will be surprised the number of success stories we hear in the next 12 months. The alternative is giving up and letting them win ten zip.

baranghopeI agree with most of what you said.....couple of things I disagree with what you said....and that is okay as far as I am concerned . I got screwed by the "system" so I tend to be a tad cynical. All I know, and I will pm the result of my ARO that I had when I got to Cairns, if you want is that if I do not abide by their rules then I am out on my ear...

@banjo
Banjo...I respect you long term older guys...and I so respect that this site exists.
I actually have pressed all their buttons.
And I will be applying for UP but once I have it I will not go overseas.

to nfa,i cant remember where i found out how much money was going in an out on pensions,before the backflip i think it was about 3 to 1 ratio?
but really this is all about the 167 frequent fliers,so if u do the maths it is about mayb 3 to 4 million a year going out the airport door each year?
which in the schemme of things is not a lot,it is more about how peope percive what we are doing o/s
having a holiday like we are spending a 1000$ week!!
which is not the case,??

This was reported in the news papers, about how much was coming in and out. It was also connected to the Brits having their pensions frozen.
