Does anyone know what it might cost to sail a boat from Cebu, past Bali, and be ready to collect cruise passengers in Darwin and then sail back?
I believe you would need a certain amount of defense but that is possible.

grab a couple of old 44 gallon drums opps 205 ltr drums and build a raft mate, set up a sail and it will cost you SFA, take lots of sea sickness pills and lots of 4x to wash the pills down when your on the high seas. ;D

Doing alright for a pensioner if you can buy a boat NFA; can you let me know your secret please? Just for the record mate; the area is swarming with pirates, so you better buy a good assault rifle also! Be safe out there mate... Cheetal.

My idea is to flag it in the Philippines, have the crew load it with organically grown hand rolled cigarettes, and sail it via regular shipping routes to various ports in Australia.
On the return voyage you could offer adventure tours sailing back to the Philippines and a subsequent Philippine adventure tour package that dropped people off at either Manila or Cebu airports' from which you can fly anywhere in the world.
You can't accumulate until you speculate.

Ahh now I get it NFA: I see the pirates aren't a big enough deterrent, now you wanna sail contraband tobacco void of excise into Australia; past the Navy and Cutoms into Darwin? I dont know if you have ever seen Berrimah Prison or NT police headquarters at Berrimah, where helicopters land on the roof and its like Fort Knox; but I'm sure you wont have any problems with residency once your locked up there mate:)) And as far as paying passengers return bound are concerned, once again I mention the pirates! Might sound good after a few drinks, but good luck with that plan mate; I rather climb Mt Everest naked and in thongs:)) Be safe out there NFA... Cheetal.

I like the idea better of going to the philippines, buying a boat, wack 30 boat people on it, charge them 10k a head ($ not pesos!), and sail THAT back to oz! we can fit our families in as well. sail on auto pilot and just say the pilot jumped ship at PNG... we can claim to be 'non residents ' (especially if we overstay the 6 weeks and get cut off DSP). if were non residents, that means we can get refugee status... along with our families and the good old aussie govt can foot the bill for our resettlement and living.... hahaha... problem solved! bet its not that easy though...
