This week I emailed Lifeline and they said that they are available 24/7 for people in crisis to discuss their problems. Thank you for your email received through the Lifeline website.
What you have outlined sounds very serious and it is understandable that you are concerned.
We encourage you to encourage those on the message board call the Lifeline 24/7 crisis support line on 13 11 14. This is an anonymous and confidential service and they would be able to talk through these issues with a trained crisis supporter without concern of being judged. Lifeline also has an online crisis chat available 8pm – midnight (ADST) 7 days a week - www.lifeline.org.au/Find-Help/Online-Services/Online-Services/default.aspx
Alternatively Lifeline has an online service finder that will help those find a face to face counsellor for little to no cost in their area - lifeline.serviceseeker.com.au/
We encourage you to post the above Lifeline contact details on the message board and encourage them to contact Lifeline for crisis support or utilise the service seeker to find face to face counsellors in their area.
You can also ring 13 11 14 to talk more about this situation.
Thank you

Lifeline calls for helpLifeline Canberra is putting out its own call for help amid concerns the charity will have to shed more staff and cut services. Lifeline is disappointed the ACT Government is only offering a 3 per cent funding boost in next week's budget. The charity, which also runs a telephone counselling service, had asked for more than double the $200,000 it already receives. Lifeline Canberra chief executive Mike Zissler says the money is needed to avoid financial trouble. "This year alone we've already made some staffing redundancies to live within our means and we're looking forward to this time next year and beyond, and that's when we start to be running out of cash," he said. "What it means is we'll have to make more structural changes and there may well be redundancies in that and ultimately we may not be able to do what we should do - answer those calls." au.news.yahoo.com/latest/a/-/latest/17402322/lifeline-calls-for-help/
