Has he actually been refused the DSP or is he waiting on his assessment?
You'll see a bit of this type of story over the next three months in country newspapers... must be an election coming up.

Yes, it was in the newsletter, do you have the right email address in the forum? It will be 11 at the central market coffee shop near the Xlotto place.

The story is poorly reported with apparently no follow up. The guy went off the DSP when he got his compo, which to me sounds strange anyway, and had reapplied.
What he needed to do was get a certificate from his doctor to avoid the usual NoStart activities until his DSP came through. A google search on his name reveals no further information.
