Here is a copy of email I received at www.australianpensioner.org/Dear Sir, I am writing in the hope that this story may be of interest to you and your wider audience. My grandmother, 94 in 2 weeks, made the decision to move to a low level council run aged care hostel in April of this year. The facility had the reputation of being very caring with a great community feel and staff that have been at the facility for years! My grandmother paid a considerable bond and moved in… She loves it and was well settled. 3 weeks ago the Monash Council sent out letters to residents and their families and staff, inviting them to an information meeting the next night and again 3 days later ..The element of surprise! The topic of the meeting, to discuss possibility that the council may in fact sell both of the aged care properties it currently owns to private agencies. The council’s inability to answer any questions and concerns raised by the residents and their families at these meetings, has only added to the stress and anxiousness of all concerned. A save Elizabeth Gardens support group has been formed and has joined forces with Monash Gardens support group to try and stop these sales proceeding. You can find more detailed information on the blog site elizabethgardens.wordpress.com/ I hope that you will find this interesting and would welcome any feedback you may have. Kind regards

Please lets keep the politics out of it. I might agree with what you say NFA but it will just give "Thread Closed Banjo" a reason to get his gun out and start shooting at his computer.
