is there any one out there on dsp that has a working wife, and by how much do they cut your pension once she earns over $276 a fortnight, from what i read its 50c in the dollar, but i thought it was only 25 c in the dollar, 50c or half seams a bit much.

my god what hope does any one have,it was 25c in the dollar, but in the last budget they mad it so people can earn an extra $9 a week,$18 a fortnight big deal, but increased the amount they take from 25c to 50c in the dollar, win win for them. and i still think the oap should be called some thing else, because you are not guaranteed your old aged pension, like i have said before if you reach oap age and have a working wife, then you only get part pension ,depends on what she earns.

It's intended to keep people who can live off private investments out of the pension scheme but the bar is now set too low, while I agree that in some things a couple can live more cheaply than single people the pensions have not kept up with the explosion of price rises and general living costs.
Even though I am on a single pension I would like to see an increase in the married rate and the opportunity to work encouraged with a more generous adjustment of pension. Like everything though, the government will say there is no money for it.

yes i can see that, but its the working wife that is getting punished in one way for working, she now needs to carry her husband that has retired, plus he does not get his full oap entitlements, it just pisses me off that's all ,i know there will be nothing done ,may be get worse that's all.
