Hi guys In this report they say that its all about total impairment points, so they seem to add them up, not the way i read, where it is that one disorder or problem has to be worth 20 points. Why do they keep talking about the TOTAL, for example in the conclusion they say he has a TOTAL impairment rating of 15, 10 plus 5, so he doesnt get 20. i dont understand why they are adding them up if the new rules say that they dont add them up anymore. www.austlii.edu.au/au/cases/cth/aat/2014/20.html

What has happened here is that the person has been refused the DSP because he has a total of less than 20 points for 3 disabilities. This is the way the DSP works.
What you may be confused with is the qualification for unlimited portability of the DSP, which stipulates 20 points in ONE impairment only.
