Hi All, Im new to the site just thought id share my situation. On June 27th I received a big letter from Wollongong as i opened it, it was from centrelink it was dsp review form one for me to fill out the other for my doctor. It had to be returned by Aug 15th. Being worried I filled the forms out promptly and returned them on Aug 4th. Since then I have not heard from centrelink at all by phone letter nothing. I still continue to be paid as normally. Ive been on the dsp since 2010 and have only heard from them when they send me out my dsp concession card and 1 phone call earlier this year. They didn't even tell me that I was approved for the dsp way back in 2010 the only way I knew I was on it my payment went up this was very surprising to me. So I have no idea when they will contact me or if they will at all. Happy to answer any questions anyone may have. G'day jimYou may have already done it but I have found that registering with myGov and Centrelink Online is the best way to keep an eye on what they are doing. You need to register with myGov, top right hand on www.humanservices.gov.au/, to get notification of letters from them. Cheers This is great reading stories like this on a forum as it helps to know other people in the same boat. Yes I have registered however I forgot my password and they want me to give them bank card details, birth certificate and other personal information so I might just ring them up I always forget passwords. It wouldn't be the first time ive heard nothing back from them.

I'm not sure what they're up to, if your doctor was not too concerned I would say it's just a standard review and there's not a great deal you can do until Centrelink get back to you. Or not get back to you which would be a better result. I suppose you could ring Welfare Rights in your home state and ask if they have heard of any similar cases. www.welfarerights.org.au/organisations/ntMy dsp is in the under 8hours barrier not sure if that makes a difference or not. Ive been paid 4 times since all this started so I guess that's a good sign. Ill be 35 soon as well so lets see if I can get to my next birthday without bad news lol.

G'day jim, As Banjo kinda suggests, no news is good news. Put it this way, if something was really wrong you would have heard something by now and seeing as you have had 4 payments I don't think you have too much to worry about. Regards your forgetting password, if you can do it over the phone then okay, but if it's okay for you maybe it might be better to go and visit C/Link in person. Just suggesting. I have to write down my passwords for different sites but I keep the book I use in a particular place. I have recently started using a program called LastPass (https://lastpass.com/) to look after all my different passwords for different sites. There are other type programs that do the same but this one has been ok'd by some people that I am aware of and you then only have to remember 1 password to get into it. I forgot my online banking password with ANZ when I was overseas once and it was a bastard. Cheers

Thanks for the info greenman mabe being in a regional area they may be more nicer than the centres in the big cities. Hey jimI'm not sure if it matters if you are in a regional area or a big city. Probably more depends on how busy the C/Link staff are in the office that you go to. But it is always good if you find a person you feel okay to talk with no matter what office you go to in either city or region. For all the faults we might blame C\Link staff that we talk to I think they do try to help. No idea if you have seen it but check the Guide to Social Security Law at guides.dss.gov.au/guide-social-security-lawMany people on this forum have read it and, as far as I know, it is what C\Link staff in any office are supposed to use. All the best PS If you read that Guide and don't understand something then do not be afraid to ask. There are many people on this forum that have been in the same boat as you. PPS Banjo started this forum to help folk like us just from people helping each other. PPPS There is no such thing as a stupid question. We all have to ask to understand.

I'm not really confident enough to contact centrelink about my review as I fear that they have forgotton me and I don't want to remind them of my case which I guess sounds silly but that's how I feel. No news is good news?

Basically the person you contact for an update will have nothing to do with the review. They will check the computer and tell you if there is any change in your circumstances. We have a number of members here who harassed rang them regularly and still got a good result.

I can't see you would have any problems, I would imagine they would be looking at any improvement in your condition.

Update: Hi everyone I thought I would post the full saga of reassessment that I have now completed. Firstly I was 34 at the beginning of this review.
LATE JULY 2014: So I got a big letter to fill out by myself and Doctor I had 2 weeks to send it back to Canberra. Months passed by without hearing anything from centrelink.
November 2014: I get another letter from CL saying that I have a interview about job capacity test, 12 hours before my appointment I get a call telling me its been changed due to a error so now its 20 days later.
December 2014: Finally the interview takes place in a CL office it takes about 60 to 70 mins to complete. I am asked many questions about my health and so on. The CL person is nice and fair writes down many notes. I ask what happens next? I will submit my report to CL then they can follow my recommendations or ignore my recommendations its up to them. So I leave and continue to receive DSP but not knowing what will be the outcome.
January 2015: Yesterday I received another letter from CL saying that my DSP will continue as I still fit the criteria. So basically a 6 month journey finally comes to a end. Happy to answer any question anyone may have.
