One of our members has requested I put this petition up on the board. I'll also link this to the next newsletter and FaceBook page. . Australian Pensioners need a living wage. Australian Pension should be no more than 65years.Australians deserve to receive the Pension at 65 years old. We should not be ready to drop before we are able to enjoy the pension. The Pension itself should be sufficient so that Pensioners can enjoy life as well as pay for the necessities of life. The Pensioners home should not be part of the assets test.
Politicians Pension should be the same as every Australians.
Older people should be able to decide when they retire. If they wish to work past 65 they should individually be able to make that decision.www.thepetitionsite.com/956/370/536/australian-pensioners-need-a-living-wage-australian-pension-should-be-no-more-than-65years/

l guess the politicans, senior public servant fat cats and high income earners can retire at 55 with a huge multi-million dollar super payout while the rest of the population has to work to 70 then retire with a pittance pension below the poverty line. Theres always one set of rules for the wealthy and another one for the rest of the population

I dont worry about pension to much cos i know for a fact that the current system will not be in place in about 20 30 40 plus years. They will have a basic support payment for everyone if i dont wanna work. This will cover food, housing and medicals.
Switzerland allready talks about it now to implement this. There is no other solution cos technology will take all jobs away and people finally waking up to the point that they dont need all this nonsense consumer spending to be happy plus this urge for never ending growth.
The capitalim system and currency system as we know it now its in his final stages.
Either there is a system change in the future or there is civil war in many western countries. Humans always looked forward in history so i opt out for the first option.
A completly new system! But firstly they have to understand that all those materialstic things make people go nuts!
I dont worry about it cos i have seen a system collapsed unexpeccted overnight in 1989.

Economics and politics have become inextricable. One could argue that they always have been, that, as philosopher John Locke put it, " Government has no other end but the preservation of property. " James Madison seemed to agree, as he insisted that the main goal of the American political system was " to protect the minority of the opulent against the majority." Adam Smith, godfather of modern economics and darling of those who are currently killing the planet, agreed as well, stating, " Civil government.... Is in reality instituted for the defence of the rich against the poor, of those who have property against those who have none at all." The above is a quote from authors, Derrick Jensen and George Draffan from the book, " Welcome to the Machine."
Gen X working till 70 years old? What about those who got suck into, " One for dad, one for mum and one for the country " ? Go on breeding, we need more future tax payers. Here's your $5k baby bonus. Now, when you children becomes adults, they will be our slaves till 70, and if they injured themselves at work, no DSP. If they die before 70, we save on the pension.
The Tories has arrived.

Lift pension age to 73: actuaries Actuaries warn the age pension will need to rise to 73 by 2050 if life expectancy continues to rise at the current rate, The Australian Financial Review reports. According to the newspaper, the Actuaries Institute said politicians would need to consider raising the pension age even higher than the 70 years Treasurer Joe Hockey signaled, in order to cover people for the same amount of time on average. Life expectancy for older Australians has increased substantially over the last 45 years. The Actuaries Institute also warned that pensioners' income would rise more slowly if the payment was indexed to inflation rather than average earnings, the AFR reports. www.theaustralian.com.au/business/latest/lift-pension-age-to-73-actuaries/story-e6frg90f-1226884125809

Excuse my skepticism, but I don't buy into this absurd statement(statements like these is the reason I avoid main stream media at all costs) that we are living longer. As with all figures, they can be manipulated. The cancer industry is the champion of smoke and mirrors. In order to get their survivor rates from chemotherapy (which have to better than a placebo) they just came up with the 5 year survival rate. Meaning if you are diagnosed with cancer and you live 5 years and then you die the next day, in their statistics you will be marked as a survivor. (most people have no idea that this is how they get their figures through deception and outright lies) You can easily check this on the internet. Eighty years or so ago your chances of getting cancer were about one in 60 now the stats coming from the cancer industry itself states that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will be diagnosed with cancer before they die, this fact alone demonstrates that it is impossible that we are living longer.
Growing up as a child I only remember one member from our extended family and friends and their families who actually died of cancer. I have lost count in the past 15 years of how many friends or family members have died from cancer. This is just from cancer alone how about other diseases like crohn's, lupis (and a lot of other autoimmune diseases that didn't even exist 60 years ago).
Are we living longer or could it look like we are living longer because we have allowed more people into the country? In the early 1960s the population was about 11 million. With the help of immigration the population now is about 22 million.
