She may have a claim against your assets if there is property in joint names. Can't see there being maintenance taken against a pension unless an order was made when you were working. Not really our line of expertise.

The short answer is yes Chris. However child support is very complex. It really is up to the mother. Some single mothers get extra money from the govt in allowances if they receive no maintenance from the father. But if the mother wants child support she can go to court to get it. I know of two dsp recipients who have to pay child support. They don't pay much but I know plenty of dsp recipients who are fathers and never paid support

We have a member here who has paid it voluntarily for a number of years. Moral issues aside, he thought it would strengthen his residency ties to Australia but Centrelink cancelled his pension on residency grounds the day he was due to fly overseas almost 2 years ago.
Overturned in the SSAT and he later achieved UP but it shows that nothing can be taken for granted with Centrelink.
