Disability Employment Service Providers Named
People with disability looking for employment will be introduced to their new service providers as the transition to the Federal Government’s new jobactive employment service continues.
The Government says job seekers will start to receive letters of advice this week about which local firm will help them to look for work in the future.
Assistant Minister for Employment Luke Hartsuyker said that the new $6.8 billion jobactive employment service, which starts on 1 July 2015, would see a mix of new and existing firms delivering employment services.
“Earlier this year I announced the names of the 66 organisations selected to deliver jobactive employment services on behalf of the Government to job-seekers right around the country,” Hartsuyker said.
“Job seekers in the current employment service – known as Jobs Services Australia - will begin to receive letters letting them know the name of their new jobactive employment service provider.
“For some job seekers, they will continue to receive help from their current employment service provider and for others it will be a case of meeting with a new provider.
“It is very important that all job seekers keep an eye out for these letters so they can connect with their new jobactive employment service and receive help to find and keep a job.
“Job seekers should also be alert for phone calls, messages, emails and letters from their new jobactive provider organising appointments from 1 July 2015 and beyond.
“In coming months, job seekers will start to notice real changes on the ground as we move towards the start of jobactive.”
