The only way it will change is if nobody votes for any of them. They are all tainted with the same disease. The word politician needs to be laid to rest permanently. But it is only a dream as people in general still respect them. Even when you write to them you must put the right honorable on the envelope. What a joke. WRONG DISHONORABLE would sum them up better. Not a word of truth from one of them in all my years of dealing with them. Libs,ALP, Greens DLP, Independent; all lied to my face 100%. And for this they get obscene pensions.

^^ So if they feel like doing something else or having a holiday for the rest of their lives, they get a minimum of $185,000 per year ? And we, the public, pay for it ?? I think its high time the tables were turned. And they can be.... Indeed, once a 'critical mass' is reached that is more likely to happen. Remember we are many, they are few! They are supposed to be there for us & serve us and not the other way around!

I definitely wont be voting at the next election. Have seen just how little the politicians are doing for the Australian people and it is unfair they expect people to wait til 70 to retire. Physical work is hard to do past 60, there are few jobs when looking for a new job and the oath the politicians take should be upheld to a better standard of living. Its not as though we are unable to afford to leave the pension age at 65, its just the government would rather help other causes.

The bastards claim that people live healthier longer lives now, yet in the real world, the very opposite is more likely! It indeed should be limited to 65. Slavery comes to mind, no doubt.

Exactly right, everyone deserves a retirement and 65 is certainly old enough to finally have a rest. Plus we need an unemployment allowance that is actually enough to live on. Sadly, they are determined to make us work until 70, yet many cannot so will be unemployed. Which brings me to a very real issue which is age discrimination, many wont get jobs which means they will be on such low money they may not afford adequate health care to even reach 70.
