Job Services Australia — restricting participation for Volunteer Job SeekersExpense ($m) 2013-14 2014-15 2015-16 2016-17 2017-18 Department of Employment ‑ ‑5.4 ‑11.9 ‑16.4 ‑18.8 The Government will achieve savings of $52.5 million over four years by limiting the number of times that volunteer job seekers can access Jobs Services Australia (JSA) to one occasion. Job seekers may subsequently access JSA if they commence income support, move to a different income support payment, or were prevented from continuing their participation due to circumstances beyond their control, such as illness or caring responsibilities. Volunteer job seekers are job seekers who are not subject to an activity test or participation requirements. Currently these job seekers are eligible to participate in JSA as often as they choose. The savings from this measure will be redirected by the Government to repair the Budget and fund policy priorities. budget.gov.au/2014-15/content/bp2/html/bp2_expense-10.htm

There's some serious people in SA, Pas Forgione for example is a working class hero and his groups certainly get people organised.
There was very little like that when I was there, we (DSPoverseas) had a regular meeting in the Market coffee shop but virtually all the regulars have moved away now.

Fantastic idea but it's pretty pathetic that a group of people are offering to help you with your Job Network Provider.
And I mean it is pathetic of the Job Network providers.

In my experience the Job Networks will prey on the vulnerable newstart recipient. They know they have the power and they will use it.

"The expertise developed over the past 27 years of supported open employment in Australia by the specialist Disability Employment Services (DES) is a key to achieving the collective employment objective of people with disability." That made me spit my coffee LOL
