I hope this is the right section i want to go to thailand so im asking im on up as everyone knows ive been back in australia since march last year from philippines now i want to try thailand but i dont know the procedure or visa requirments how long can i stay there for and what do i need to do if i want to stay longer than the 30 days if thats possible Vietnam is the go.. lol That's what's being said.....my India post was because ASEAN will possibly out compete each other on visa rules eventually, and stuff the whole thing up; or vise versa. Though some won't be pleased to have to back track to keep a reasonably easy level of welcome available. Cheers bear

Going to book a trip to Cambodia soon and check the place out. What i read sounds good. Never actually been ghostbuster but, other than lack of big malls; not really a downside, and lack of serious medical facilities it does sound well worth while for a look see. The Thai Khmers I know who live on the border.....very hospitable and friendly. Cheers bear

Going to book a trip to Cambodia soon and check the place out. What I read sounds good. I love Cambodia ghostie but Thailand has a far better infrastructure. Great to visit and I could probably live there if Thai visas went pear-shaped. People are great and Angkor beer also. What's not to like? But I can get more things I like in general in Thailand although Siem Reap now has a quite modern supermarket these days but not seen one anywhere else but maybe. If you really want local then head to Ban Lung in the "wild" northeast. As relaxed as anywhere on earth but very basic Or Battambang is chill out country also. Phnom Penh is as chaotic as any big Asian city. But a happy hour Angkor on Sisowath quay for 50 cents overlooking the river is a way to cope with it. I'll be back there myself in March if you are there then. I'll shout. And won't be a GROWL in sight. Happy to give you any more info if I can.

With the E-Tourist Visa the first entry must be at an airport when the visa is stamped in passport .. Thereafter can re-enter at land borders. Five year visa makes India a handy add-on to the usual S.E.A. Of course Indian climate and pollution are serious considerations (time and place are important). Visa runs to Pokhara, Nepal. Not Kathmandu awful place. Or Bangladesh. Or flight to Sri Lanka …… etc.
Multiple visa runs (for retirees) shouldn't be a problem, unless you look like someone doing business or missionary work.
