I need some advice I just spent 300 dollars on luggage. It was suppose to be designed to carry on however just checking Jetstar dimensions. Height 56cm Width 36cm Depth 23cm
The luggage I bought is Height 55cm Width 37 Depth 24
It's over by 1cm in Width and Depth
Should I risk trying to sneak it in. Because I really don't want to check it in. I have had items lost when I checked it in.

1c over shouldn't be a worry??? There are often frames at airport that the bag should be able to fit in but never seen anyone asked to use them. But if it weighs over 7kgs then they often crack down. As long as under 7kgs should be alright. Budget airlines more likely to enforce these rules also.

Its all about if it fits the overhead locker I have seen on many flights the bag will not fit straight in It has to be sideways As long as it is within the dimension I believe you will be fine They are looking at the older style ones that were big As the Overhead baggage compartments were big But now have been made small to cut down on Weight with the materials used on the planes

I've seen Thais load two suitcases, a motorbike, half a pig and four shopping bags into an overhead locker without any problem.

More so just got to get in the front of the line These days I seen the storage compartments at the top fill up so quick I thought the frames were for the airport staff to ask you to check if your suitcase fits in the dimensions But I've never seen them used or anyone asking someone to put it in Hopefully 1 cm over is okay I'm dreading going to the airport with the long waits I agree with some of the articles I'm reading making heaps of people crowd in the check in area just waiting is not ideal They need more staff to speed things up People shouldn't be waiting outside on the footpath

More staff means higher airport costs which results in higher plane fares.

As i have said for years and all those who fly should say it also. "I am lucky enough to say I hate airports".

I hate being in the middle seat in airlines I keep getting stuck near rude people Both sides never gave me an arm rest so when he went to take a sip of his coffee I put my arm on the arm rest and he gave me a death stare The two seats on the side already have one arm rest at least give me one. And to top it off half his leg was on my side And it was halfway on the aisle as well These people need to be charged extra if they can't fit in a seat. Sorry for my rant.

i must be lucky quantum, i always ask for an aisle seat and in over 150 flights have never had a middle seat nor have i ever had horrible people next to me. last flight i actually had a full row of 4 seats to myself although that's a rarity. touch wood when i say all this as next flight in a few weeks. i may hate airports but once the seat belt sign goes off and they serve a beer i find it all very enjoyable. Sit back and relax. p.s. you have to fight for arm rests. discretion needed obviously but first in is my rule. you can probably get the right protocol on google these days. but the guy has no right to put his leg in your area. so lesson is; always ask if flight is full and for an aisle seat. as long as you are not last in the queue you should get one although many choose their seats online these days for extra cost if you wanted to really make sure of getting one.

When i am at checkin i usually ask if flight is full . If not i ask for a row of seats to myself as i have bad knees. This usually works and can stretch and lay down.

Does this work even for Jetstar That is asking if the flight is full
Though Jetstar always tends to be full

Can I select my seat?SEATSYes, you can make your seat selection when you make your booking. Choose an aisle or window seat, or sit in a row with friends and family. A fee may apply and seat selection is subject to availability. Economy Starter Plus, Economy Max passengers and Business Class passengers can select any standard seat for no extra charge, subject to availability. For a slightly higher fee you can select a seat up the front of the aircraft, which should help get you on and off the aircraft slightly faster. Need some extra legroom? See: Can I book an extra legroom seat? Already got a booking? Go to Manage booking to purchase your seat selection. Terms and conditions of paid seat requestsPaid seat requests are non-transferable and non refundable. You can only transfer seat requests when you make a permitted name change to your booking. In the event of a flight disruption or schedule change, we will attempt to seat you in your requested or equivalent seat but we can’t guarantee the seat will be available on your new flight. You may also be required to move seats for operational reasons. If you choose to change your flight, you will be offered an equivalent seat when you change, subject to availability. If an equivalent seat is unavailable, Jetstar will not provide a refund of the additional amount paid. If you change your flight and a higher fee to change the seat applies, you must pay the difference. www.jetstar.com/th/en/flights/seats
