My last trip to Vientiane produced some fantastic coffee at reasonable prices, I even brought some beans back with me.

Yesterday told to pick up passport after 2.00 today. Got there at 1.45 with about 15 already lined up for 2.00 opening. Another 20 behind me when opened. But within ten minutes had passport in hand. Highly recommend Savanakhet Thai Consul General for all Thai visa needs. Fast, efficient and 24 hours later your done. Across the road is a guy who arranges all photo copies you need along with help to fill in forms for first timers and auto fill in after that as all kept on record. I thought it was a sting first time but turns out a great time saving service for only 100 baht. Even has a photo service if you forget your two passport size photo's. So across to Mukdaharn tomorrow morning before a night or two in Udonthani. An interesting 6 weeks to say the least. And much wiser for much of it.

Well, where has the first 3 months of 2018 gone. Was on a high in Battambang mid Feb and now on a minor low with tonight the last $3.00 buffet meal for a while. 24 hours time will be more than that for a bloody meat pie. No way i will ever eat one of those ever again though. Sadly 8 days in my fav place in the world of Malaysia have lacked the usual excitement. If ya aint got ya health you aint got nothing my old dad use to say and he was spot on. But just saw a guy in a wheel chair on Jalan Sultan with only gutters, broken foot paths and street vendors to get over. He put it all into perspective. I await the next adventure.

Just got back to Cjiang Mai after being nomadic since late January. I must say i would be happy never to return to Australia ever again. I was worried about hernia but it turned out to be the least of my worries. i was lucky to be born in a country with social welfare and even luckier to be now able to live a good life on it. But the disgusting things i have experienced in oz over the last 23 years defy belief. But when you have a brain injury you are to blame like all the other disabled for our predicaments. a number of people on this visit told me that those sleeping on the foot path prefer it. They are so ignorant after being brain washed by the politicians and media. There has never been a human being in history who would prefer a concrete bed than a proper mattress. So i encourage everyone who wants UP to go for it.
