Labor: Older Australians left in limboFederal Labor has accused the government of leaving older Australians, including some with dementia, in limbo waiting for home care packages. More than 100,000 people are on a waiting list for the care initiative announced a year ago, according to health department figures from September. "Without intervention, the waiting list will continue to grow, with more and more vulnerable older Australians forced into limbo without care," Labor ageing spokeswoman Julie Collins said in a statement on Tuesday. www.9news.com.au/national/2018/02/27/06/56/labor-older-australians-left-in-limbo

WHY OH WHY HAS AUSTRALIA GONE SO FAR BACKWARDS IN MY LIFE TIME? How many retirees were living in Thailand 50 years ago let alone disabled getting a better life in Cambodia? Cambodia a better place to live than Australia. Who would have thought? Funny world we live in. OK, tragic probably a better word than funny. Just been watching BBC world service for first time in ages and the ongoing war in Syria. Out of sight out of mind with no TV but it still continues unabated as the world does nothing. And tonight the Oz media will highlight the one person in a million cheating on welfare rather than show all the horrors of the planet. Politicians and the media. Who else is to blame for all the problems of the human race? OK, rant number 2 done. sorry.

Well, most Aussies are fairly well-off compared to many in the USA. They'll whinge about anything that cramps their style. But that article is till relevant.
My wife just got pregnant, although she has had 3 miscarriages in the past. If this one is viable, god knows how we're going to survive in the future. We have two part-time jobs and mine is supported by the DSP. Currently we live hand to mouth, and can't even save enough for a house deposit..... and rent's dead money.

Yes Latindancer we all live in our own back yards for the most part. In comparison to Cambodia no one in Australia has anything to complain about. But when you only know your own Aussie back yard then the homeless and those dealing with Centrelink have every right to moan. Everything in context. Only by travelling do you see the overall problems of the entire planet. Once again all caused by politicians.
