Hey denis, try and think like i do. I am very lucky to Hate airports. These places excite most people. But if you are "LUCKY" to travel a lot they are indeed a curse. But most people would be envious. I got to BKK on Tuesday to find flight delayed by over two hours. When got to gate on time but ended up another hour after amended time. Never had a plane taxi for so long before take off. But for a non nomadic it should excite you. But agreed, I hate them also and with budget airlline this time no food or drink even. BORING. Try to put a positive spin to it. Like Hank does. NO do not tell blatant lies.

I have never had any problems with World Remit, they are quick and safe and their fees are not through the roof like some of them.

G'day all, just had a conversation with a member re Officious Immigration Officers trying to trip people up on entry/re-entry. Eg. Asking questions about long gone visas totally unrelated to current status and generally being a PITA about personal matters i.e. family, accommodation etc. They have been staying in the particular country for many many years. First time hussle....
This wasn't an entry to LOS, though posts on another forum indicate giving people a good quizzing is also currently happening there as well. Just a heads up, cross your I's dot your T's, know the rules; though as you all know at the end of the day, entry is ultimately at the discretion of the officer at the desk. Smile, be polite, keep calm. Cheers bear

Just got the news that anyone arriving in Thailand from China, Korea, Italy, Iran, France or Germany will be held in detention for 14 days on arrival even if only in transit. So I suspect all flights will stop as now only Thai citizens will want to come.

I’m meant to be flying to Europe in May Via Singapore and I won’t go now. Travel insurance refuse to cover the virus and it would be a disaster to get caught up in quarantines because the flight transited in Singapore. Lost my money on the the flight but hadn’t booked accommodation so that’s one good thing. It’s a mess that’s for sure

why not at least change your flight to another date. many are saying the warmer summer weather in the northern hemisphere will finish it all. Even some experts saying they expect it to end by May. One said not many cases in S.E. Asia because it's never very cold. Still none here in Laos where I am. But like centrelink I guess. A dirty little bug that is unpredictable.

Qantas are not allowing any concession to change the flights - unlike many many other airlines. If I want to change the flight it will cost a fortune. Maybe Qantas will come to the party and allow changes for no extra charge. Some major international airlines are offering free changes and / or credits. Qantas has never impressed me but it was a cheap flight. Get what ya pay for as they say.

Hey ann i read the opposite. Many airlines including Qantas and Jetstar and tour operators are not charging anything to change dates. But maybe some fine print if you got a cheap deal.

I read with Qantas it’s for flights out prior to April 30 and mine is May 4. Who knows. Safer here for me

I would have thought that even changing it would be cheaper than losing it altogether. If i can again find the article I saw i will post it. Where were you going to? SARS only took 6 months to disappear so hopefully the same or less although this is far wider spread now.

“Qantas and Jetstar are waiving change fees for new international bookings made until the end of March, if customers change their travel plans. This applies to travel commencing up to June 30, 2020 and is limited to one free change per customer. Customers will need to pay any fare difference.”
My booking was made sept 2019 so I don’t think the above applies to me - what do you think?
My travel is May 4 to July 1 so I’m not sure about their cut off June 30 above
Also I was to fly Melbourne to Singapore with Qantas then Lufthansa to Frankfurt then Lufthansa to Lisbon.
I cant find anything about Qantas flying into Singapore and I can’t find out what the hell Lufthansa are doing.
Plus Qantas want more money if I change it
I’ve given up, surrendered to the confusion, not bothering, don’t care anymore. It’s beyond me and thankfully I don’t care either. I was meant to migrate there may 2018 and my husband died here in Oz June 2018 and then I planned this trip and the world throws a pandemic!!!!!! I’m not meant to go it seems.
BUT gang hold onto your hats - I might go next year - wonder what sort of f?ing disaster will befall me then. If I go I will give you all fair warning so you can bunker down lol

I just read that Qantas have stopped all flights to Singapore. But if you made the booking ages before the virus started I would have thought you could change 100% for free. Just talk to them I guess. I have often changed flights in normal circumstance without any charge over the years. But just got stung recently for a date change which had nothing to do with the virus and was super cheap to begin with. Also via Singapore in 3 weeks time so now not sure for me either. but not with Qantas.

Great to see you've hung on to your spirit and sense of humour ann .......life sure throws some curly ones at us. I thought moving would be a breeze!! Had it all worked out, then got hit with a perfect storm......initiated I must say by our own Government, through stopping issuing income letters and followed through with changes to Thai immigration law. Long story for another time and place; but the good news is, I just got my first one year extension. Cheers bear

So we are both good for another year. Sadly like bloody birthdays, they keep turning up quicker every year. and those buses in Laos seem to get slower and my body tireder.
