Event description
DESCRIPTION
Australian Federation of Disability Organisations (AFDO) is a systemic advocacy organisation advocating for people with disabilities in Australia. Our member organisations include national and state disability advocacy organisations made up of people with disability and family members who provide individual and systemic advocacy.
This Forum is an opportunity for people with disabilities, families and carers to listen to self-advocates as they speak about their journey, how they became a self-advocate, and why self-advocacy matters. This Forum will also include a range of speakers talking about systemic advocacy as they tell us why we need systemic disability advocacy organisations in Australia.
Join us in celebrating advocacy, individual, systemic, and self-advocacy as we showcase a range of speakers sharing their stories, and most importantly, how to become a disability advocate.
We will be celebrating successful advocacy campaigns, and also looking at what still needs to change in today’s society to improve the lives of people with disability in Australia.
AFDO’s Advocacy Forum will feature a Keynote Address, panel sessions with self-advocates, presentations from individual and systemic advocacy representatives and organisations.
Please let us know your dietary and accessibility requirements.
