A recurring response to people seeking help on this forum is to "Just call Welfare Rights".
I am curious to hear from people who have called them in the last year. How did you get on with their help if any.
Everyone knows how WR funding has been cut to the bone by Govt's just so you the punter can not get the help you need.
Not critizing WR, as they can only do so much to help, and I am sure they have been over whelmed in the last 8 years of Govt targeting welfare recipients.
So have they really been helpful to anyone lately???.

They were very helpful to me for understanding the DSP process and also ensuring that my documents were actually received by Centrelink. They also explained what they could and couldn't do and what evidence would help with my application and what templates could be used to provide to doctor's supporting my DSP claim.
This was just over a year ago I think, I engaged with them when my claim was initially rejected and didn't know what to do next.

I admit I did a lot of mine myself but having someone explain the process to me when previously I would have just responded to specific queries helped me stress quite a bit less. Even knowing that welfare rights can submit documents on anyone's behalf and therefore have a record of what was sent was good to know because I had a whole application 'go missing'

He's whizz timber I'd have thought there'd be more than one. I suppose the good news is tasjo had a win. At least we now know they can submit documents on anybody's behalf and are willing to explain the process as of only one year ago. This post is just a bump really, to keep it live for another 24 hours; to see if there's anyone else. Cheers bear
