we are getting off topic with religion , but yes l agree morrison and most of the liberals say they are committed christains but their actions are totally opposite of what Christianity is about, for example Morrison tows back boats of refuguess , l don't think jesus would approve of that or morrison giving tax breaks to big banks and attacking the poor with robo debt. Apparently no one thought he had a hope in 'hell' of winning, even his own support staff had applied for new jobs they were so sure they would be out of a job after the election and one person had bet $1 million of Shorten to win at $1.10 thinking it was an easy $100,000 profit. It is bad news for all people on centrelink benfits and low income workers, but good news for the wealthy, their lives will be getting even better over the next years. we will become a more divided society with the gap between rich and poor over the next years, probably the robo debt computers will be working over time printing out debt notices and l imagine the welfare card will be expanded to further areas, but hopefully harsh welfare policies will be blocked by labor and the greens, l remember Abbott wanted to kick all young people off newstart in 2014 and it was blocked and never went ahead

Wouldn't surprise me to see the yellow vest protests start again. Will be interesting to see what happens with the continuing downturn in the economy & housing market.

With Scott Morrison being a born again Christian, you would think that would mean helping the most vulnerable, the sick and the outcasts. Like having some sort of moral obligation. However with him, including the majority of churches and most christians it means everything but.. I find it disturbing he has been re-elected. prodiusat the risk of being thrown to the lions I believe you are unfairly characterizing Christians You are right. I feel the need to apologize for criticizing the majority of churches and Christians in western society. That was an unfair comment and I apologize for offending people. The majority of Christian churches are upstanding moral citizens striving to better our society through their messages and social justice causes. Scott Morrison is a true prayer warrior who gets a rock star reception any church he attends. It’s very pleasing he has church backing.

This isn't the huge LNP victory they are claiming. It is bordering on the 2016 results. Labor's problem is too centrist and need to go back to the left.
Palmer and ON were the difference makers in many seats. Won't take long before their alliance with Libs implodes.

Antony Green just called the election for LNP. Sad. Just because he did doesn't make it true. Still lots more pre poll votes to come.

As such I think I would be much more fitting for Scott to be Pastor Morrison of the House of Mammon rather than swanning about thinking he's truly someone being PM of Australia, proselytising to the electorate about why they are poor and what best to do about it. Not that the poor have a choice, they just jump however high and still get castigated and penalised. Nice heartfelt apology prodius I'm sorry you though you needed to make one. Christians don't deserve any special treatment, they deserve all they get and have brought it on themselves over the centuries; and yet like Australian Voters they still don't understand and have learnt nothing.

Still early days, even if the Libs get in they will be curtailed from introducing horror legislation by a mixed senate. This is true plus even if LNP win it will be narrow. The swings to them came from dirty preference deals from Pauline and Palmer.

Could it possibly be Karma with Shorten? It came back to haunt him after the way he treated myself alone when disability minister. Committed treason against the disabled at the time. Got his just deserts maybe. But sadly could be even worse ahead as Morrison doesn't even "pretend" to support the poor and needy. He thinks we should all be put down. By stealth if not by other means. The public has been brainwashed and now the disability abuse R.C. will be a whitewash probably also.

I think there's several things positive to come. Labor will have a new leader and was needed long ago, Anning, Abbott were kicked out who are two of the worst, 3, Pauline will have to be up for next election. I honestly with hindsight now don't see this as the big victory LNP might claim once counting is done. 2pp the percentage is very close to 2016. Labor lost some seats but not a huge amount like say in 2013. They have to however consider more progressive policies.

It's a bad day for pensioners, the unemployed, the under employed, the disabled... the list goes on but we survived two terms of Liberal government so we'll probably survive another one. The Senate will curb their worst excesses, there's no mandate there. The media has made sure that Australians couldn't see Shorten as an acceptable Prime minister, Palmer spent millions on what was basically an attack on the ALP, which helped the Libs rather than his party...
Plibersek for leader?

l blame Gillard , l think she destroyed the labor party and made it a joke after she stole the job from Rudd, she betrayed people on the DSP and single parent pensions with tough changes, she only cared about herself and own ambitions and she was totally incompetent , after her no one wants to vote labor again
