Well I finally did it.
Downloaded the FOI form that you can fill in on your computer and just email it back to them.. easy peasy.
I would like to have a gentle word to the computer programmers that create this stuff.
I finally got it sorted when I downloaded a couple of other programs that let me actually fill the form in.
They talk about folk not being able to read nor write.
Hah! They must be employed by the gubmint to program their computers.
Sent it off to their designated email address and also uploaded it on myGov.

Cheers bear bearMaybe I'm wrong but Centrelink specifically state on the website that they no longer accept general emails and will only accept information by post or fax or phone call or documents uploaded in the myGov Online section or in the case of an FOI request an email to freedomofinformation@humanservices.gov.au So that email address is where I sent it AND I uploaded it online. But the Form was a shocker to get it to take information!

Are you saying you can only get OAP if you go back and stay for 2 years? In that case, it's a non-subject.

SatanLink can get stuffed. But you still have to tell them nomadic if your going to take the AP or NOT. At least that is my understanding.

SatanLink can get stuffed. But you still have to tell them nomadic if your going to take the AP or NOT. At least that is my understanding. You two are history in the making......(1) neither of you are expats returning to claim OAP; and whether you will actually have to return remains just one question. (2) As you both are already in receipt of a payment, that also sets you aside from returning expats and those in Australia not receiving a payment. Again different rules for those that are. (3) You have been granted UP for DSP, and the big unknown is, whether you can carry that over to OAP whilst overseas;.as the legislation states, "You must be in Australia on the day you apply." As for doing the two year penance.....I'd think highly unlikely due to your circumstances. Remember OAP didn't even know where Denis-NFA was living. If you two have decisions to make, may I suggest the department has decisions to make as well. Such as; (1) is it possible to transfer someone on DSP/UP to Aged Pension, whilst they are living overseas thereby maintaining portability. (2) If someone with DSP/UP MUST be psychically present to apply; do they lose prior portability. Just my personal view, though I'm sure both of you fellas will give them a good go round. All the best, please keep us informed. Cheers bear

bearTalk about LOL. I have one more question for the Forum before I send my fax to the good people at C/L International whom I do not consider in the same league as SatanLink. If you are granted UP and accept and actually do go overseas do you need to have an Australian address in your list of addresses?

The bottom line for me I guess is; Is that what is the difference or benefit of changing to OAP even if no other restrictions come into play? Why do they even offer it? For their benefit to change perhaps and not mine? The amount is exactly the same if I am not mistaken. so what does it matter? Great old song comes to mind. Suspicious minds?

When I was talking to them before I left they wanted to know how they could contact me. Were quite persistent in wanting to send notices to my postal address on file; which had never had any correspondence sent to it, since the advent of MyGov. Quite strange really, since it was the one place I wouldn't be able to receive letters.
After much tooing & froing we settled on letters to MyGov if they wanted to contact me. Though not an actual answer to your question, my home address is still on file. Yeah I know, clear as mud! Cheers bear
