I got the ferry for the same price as the bus/train.... the harbour ferries are one of the few real bargains left in Australia. Last February I had about 7 hours to kill in Sydney, airport to Circular Key by train, ferry to Manly then return to airport cost me about 12 bucks for a pensioner day pass. The fish and chips I had on Manly beach cost more than that! Fish & Chips for lunch Banjo "Your living it up"

I love train travel. The Station at Hua Hin is one of the most beautiful train stations I have ever seen.
Dont ever take the train from Bangkok to Pattaya its like a 5 hour journey in hell.

$4.80 ! That would buy you a milk shake, or a large coffee in Australia. Yet our government can't work out why people would choose to live over there while on DSP. How dumb are they? And why are they still running this country, when they cannot do even simple math? There not Dumb spacey the little desk monkeys in C/L realize that pensioners staying overseas are living like "Human Beings"... they dont like this one bit and get jealous, they think we should be all down & out living in the gutter so they can have more control over us.

Is that for real banker? there used to be a train from Thailand to Cambodia but unfortunately it stops near the border now I believe.
Rowdy the Parramatta to Sydney train until only a few years back was just as old as the 3rd class Thai train . Sydney rail really sucks

To the best of my knowledge there are no passenger trains in Cambodia, one of the major downsides of Cambodia is the lack of public transport.

[/quote] As the kids today say: "True dat". Yet living a simple life, is one of the best cures for ailments. Nice fresh vegies, fresh air and less stress go along way to maintaining a reasonable level of health. I yearn for a tribal life, where people help each other to live in harmony with the land and money has little value. Third world countries are the only place where you can still find that. Pottering around in a vegie patch is also good excercise and theraputic. Yet they want to impose more stress on us, allow us to live in the streets with no security or protection, while expecting us to remain well enough to hold down a job.

This is very true spacey. I cant find the post but recently a chap said he was on DSP for mental health issues and was really struggling until he left for a 3rd world country.
He said "I followed the path of least resistance and eventually met a great lady"
That statement says everything. He was able to get it all together when the stress and poverty was removed. Unfortunately he is sub 36 and I think he had to get back to OZ
