Is shingles different to scabbies? Scabbies is contagious I believe and common in the tropical regions of Asia but what causes Shingles? It f@$ks with your nerves doesn't it? What Is Shingles? You can think of shingles as a one-two punch of infections. Anyone who gets it had a case of chickenpox first, often decades earlier. These two conditions come from the same virus, called varicella zoster. Chickenpox causes itchy blisters that might start on your back, chest, and face and spread to the rest of your body. Shingles is a rash with shooting pain. It usually shows up on one side of your body. Interesting facts mate.
I didn't Catch chicken pox until my final year of high school.
What relevance that has to shingles I'm unsure. I'm 41 next month should I enquire about the vaccine?

Interesting facts mate. I didn't Catch chicken pox until my final year of high school. What relevance that has to shingles I'm unsure. I'm 41 next month should I enquire about the vaccine? I'd say the relevance to shingles boku , would be that because you've had chicken pox, irrespective of at what age nor how old you are now, is that you are now in the group that can get shingles. Especially if under stress or have let your immune system slack off because of a less than best practice diet; then yes, asking about the vaccine just in case as a preventive, could be money well spent for sure, IMO.
