Recently I had the misfortune to experience first hand the Centrelink culture often complained of. I had to endure false accusations with threatening, grossly intimidating, bullying and aggressive conduct by an employee of Centrelink. I believe that this conduct was an attempt to provoke me into defending myself against imminent violence as I was in fact in fear of imminent violence. Had I physically defended myself, of course I would have been arrested and for certain breached, which is thought to be the motive behind this disgraceful conduct. The conduct was aggravated by the Centrelink office manager who appeared more concerned at whitewashing the employee conduct, blaming me for it and seemingly making no attempt to discipline the employee. Accordingly a Judicial Review of Centrelink is to be sought by me in the FEDERAL COURT regarding a whole smorgasbord of facts and allegations against the Department of Human Services trading as Centrelink, ABN: 29 468 422 437. The first step in filing for a Judicial Review, will be filing proceedings for Discovery of the Centrelink security video of the incident as Centrelink has refused to provide it. This has now been filed. MORE @ CentrelinkGetsSued.com

updated 15/11/2011 It seems subterfuge is being employed to stall a Freedom of Information request on ones own personal file : • the request involves documents of a sensitive nature and will require extensive decision making time • the document retrieval process is complex due to the need for stakeholders to convert the document into an appropriate medium • the decision making process is complex due to the need for third party consultation and consideration of appropriate redactions en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RedactionMORE @ CentrelinkGetsSued.com

His website has been updated. Centrelink is firing off flak, by saying they cannot edit video footage in a reasonable timeframe, and citing privacy concerns regarding other people in the footage. They say the format also prevents this. Nonsense ! He should tell them to copy it into a VHS ....tape.....format. At least they admit to having the footage, and are not saying it has been "lost". If HIS behaviour was in question, I'm sure Centrelink would have no trouble redacting the video footage. I get a lot of vicarious satisfaction from seeing Centrelink, or even one of it's employees, get held to account.

I agree LD if C/L were looking for evidence they would produce the video without any problems.

Yeah it just gets better doesn't it. The redaction time quoted amounts to 22 days of computer time to redact (edit) 55 minutes of video. Their letter is here : centrelinkgetssued.com/FOI.htmlI guess they would be worried I would put it on YouTube ?? :-) I reckon redaction won't play a part in the Federal Court Application for it, however if I were to put that on YouTube (if I get a copy to take home) I would probably be in contempt of court. Roll on the 9th of December....

I represent myself and that is what the 9 Dec matter is about, to get a court order for the video.
A lawyer, if I could ever find a decent one would charge me in excess of $10,000 (I am just a C/L client) to draft up the substantive Application to be filed after I get the video.

Thanks for posting on my campaign on GetUp Gordon.
I think we can do just as good a job as a lawyer, we would certainly know a lot more about Centrelink than most. I handled my own SSAT appeal after being refused legal aid this year and to be honest, preferred it that way. I knew exactly what I wanted to say and didn't need the water muddied by some legal eagle singing for his supper.
