I think I just got the 2nd part of the last increase after months if I haven't lost track of time. Is A$1026 now the DSP rate with no supplements? NO....... That is the full onshore rate. Attachment is my next payment........ The new offshore payment is approximately $ 964.00 with no supplements. Looks like you've gotten lucky again nomadic . Hopefully for the full three payments. Cheers 🐻

Yes, that crossed my mind. On a roll, it seems. was 963 last one before I left. next one when back in oz 990. then the first week back and the latest was 1026. So we think back to 990 next one, do we? ? I thought supplements were more than $36.

NO......the $ 990 will be because it wasn't a full pay period and as stated above I think you'll find it'll be approx $ 964.00; unless they pay you for the six weeks after leaving, which will be $ 1026.00 for two more pays. Cheers 🐻

Youth Allowance payment increases from January 1 as ACOSS calls for higher increase
Changes to income support for young Australians from January 1 isn’t enough to pay the bills, according to the Australian Council of Social Service. On January 1 each year income support payments including Youth Allowance and Austudy are adjusted for inflation.
The Youth Allowance rate will go up by at least $19 a fortnight in 2023, with youth and student payments to be indexed by more than 6 per cent.Experts are calling for more money to be injected into the Youth Allowance payment to prevent millions of Aussies dip below the poverty line. From January 1, the basic rate of Youth Allowance for singles will go up by at least $19.10 a fortnight, with the maximum figure an extra $41.40 a fortnight. Austudy recipients will see an increase to their rate of between $32.40 and $41.40 a fortnight depending on their living arrangements and if they have dependent children. But ACOSS CEO Cassandra Goldie said this routine indexation is simply not enough to ensure the income support payments people receive is enough money to live off. “The routine indexation of payments on January 1 does not deliver the real increase that so many people desperately need,” said Dr Goldie. “Income support payments were woefully inadequate before the prices of food, rent, medicines, energy and other essentials skyrocketed and they will still be totally insufficient after indexation.” Those who receive the rent assistance get $75.80 per week for a single adult. Dr Goldie said working age income support payments should be lifted to at least $73 a day and rent assistance should be lifted by 50 per cent. “Youth Allowance and Austudy payments are only indexed once a year and are even lower than other income supports,” she said. “Even with 6.1 per cent indexation, Youth Allowance will increase by $16.20 per week to $281.40 for a single person living away from home. That’s just $40.20 a day. Dr Goldie said delivering a significant increase to Youth Allowance and JobSeeker would prevent people from living well-below poverty levels. “As one of the wealthiest countries on Earth, it is unconscionable that we continue to refuse to end poverty, but will proceed with billions in tax cuts for the wealthiest who already have more than enough,” she said. “The federal government must take action to change this by lifting income support payments to at least $73 a day in the May Budget.” www.theaustralian.com.au/breaking-news/youth-allowance-payment-increases-from-january-1-as-acoss-calls-for-higher-increase/news-story/68e54bccc5d179e630856f149e472957?amp&nk=23d907150f90769e2c3a503f975dfef5-1672692277Note:- Should the government heed ACOSS' pleas, that will put those who get their indexation on 1st January almost on par with DSP & OAP @ $ 1022.00 p/f

I have no idea why itsa. Why do you get $300 less than us because you are married? Does Clink know your wife is employed? If she is even? The old story like I have heard before. Get a divorce then get the single amount and get married again and do not tell them. It stinks yet again. Sympathy.

Well as you know mate I brought the family back home with me some months ago,my wife worked for about 6 weeks or less, things didn't quite work out for us for various reasons.I think what triggered the down turn was when my wife came to Australia as as a permanent resident with the opportunity to work Centrelink seized their opportunity. The fact that we have a special need's child with ASD doesn't seem to matter.I won't go over old ground again in a previous post,CL are just a pack of low life's and make me so angry!!! I hope your recovery is on track mate.
God bless you always Itsa

Section 24 states that if a recipient who is married and is in financial hardship will keep getting the single rate Itsa. Cheers JJJ88 Thanks for the advice J but Ive been down that road twice in the past 6 months.Lodgeing the 1st application while still in Australia and being advised of the outcome after I departed. Since then Ive appealed and have been shot down in flames once again. Truly I must be the most unlucky man in Australia to have encountered two women with no heart at all, maybe they should have applied for that part in the wizard of Oz. The tin woodman. (Toe Rags) Cheers Itsa

Did you appeal it to the AAT?

No I didnt because of the heavy handed approach they took, even saying in not so many words it probably wouldnt be in my interests to appeal to the AAT as I might incur a debt going back many years if I did. They knew I was married because I done the right thing blah blah, not for a public forum for obvious reasons, ill pm you sometime soon and let you know more, in my eyes it was scandalous behaviour... Cheers Itsa Ive got the decision in writing
