Providing you are still in Australia. Sorry i typed it wrong. Sorry i did not catch up with you when in town. You only get the extra money when you get back to OZ. I received mine with my payment today.

I just contacted Centrelink as I returned on the 24th of June and I asked them about my $250 and was informed I am not eligible as I was overseas. Is this correct or should I appeal?

One of our members was overseas on the date he was supposed to receive it and it was paid on his return. I'll know myself soon, I missed out and return to Australia this weekend. Trouble is payday is today so it will take me two weeks to find out. Give Welfare Rights a ring.

I just found this, So I should be eligible for the full advance. Overseas absences A person will not receive a CEA while they are absent from Australia. If a person normally resides in Australia and is receiving a qualifying payment while temporarily absent from Australia, they will be tested for qualification for a CEA upon their return to Australia. If, upon return to Australia, the person qualifies for a CEA and their absence from Australia was for a continuous period of no more than 13 weeks, they will qualify for a full CEA. If the person's absence from Australia was greater than 13 weeks, they will qualify for a pro-rata CEA calculated from the date of their return to the end of the relevant CEA period. Act reference: SSAct section 914 Recipients of certain social security payments, section 914A Recipients of austudy, youth allowance, some disability support pensions and some special benefits From this page. www.fahcsia.gov.au/guides_acts/ssg/ssguide-3/ssguide-3.15/ssguide-3.15.1.html

Go in and see them, if they knock you back again ask for the decision to be reviewed. If they say you weren't a resident at the time ask why you were being paid the DSP while you were away.

I went into CL to ask why they cut my support from $60 to $20.
I know the answer now but they cut my pension back to partnered.
Oddest thing is that I now receive 100% of the partnered supplement.

Are you partnered ? (Well i am , but they dont know that).so effectively I am not and they intend to cut mine the same. Guess i will have to wait closer to the time to see if it changes. I hate going into CL havent don it in years. I feel like if i walk in on my own 2 feet now they'll say i look fine and put me on Newstart.

It's amazing how they make us feel guilty and create doubt in our own minds isn't it? This is how they win and people fall through the cracks in the system, it's easier to make you give up than do the work to put you on the payment you deserve. Don't worry, I'm not being critical, I've been there got the teeshirt.

I contacted Welfare rights today as I called Centrelink again today and the lady still claimed as I was outside Australia at the time it was payable that I am not eligible so I obtained a receipt number and now waiting for a Welfare rights person to contact me by Monday.
