We need to get some sort of overall picture of how members feel about Centrelink's handling... or mis-handling... of the new portability legislation.

That Indonesian Arak will dissolve your tonsils Bundy... unless you had them out as a kid, then go for it.
Amazing, I never had a drink for two years until all this shit started, been off again for two weeks now but got that plane trip coming up... that makes it really hard.
I have a magnificent collection of "no replies" from the people you mention, we'll have to compare them some time... over a drink? ;D

Hello all, Have been on DSP for nearly 3 years now and have been going to Thailand 2 times a year now for 3 months each time, so far have had good contact with centrelink and they are quite helpful but also advising me that there are changes comeing but that nothing is set in place yet, will be takeing another trip in september 4 for 3 months and have notified centrelink in person and once again they were very helpful. I am really in favour of unlimited portability ass then maybe i could take one 6 month trip each year for medical reasons and then the remaining 6 months here in Australia to retain residency.

Didn't I see on the news that a whole bunch of people went blind after drinking cocktails with Arak in them in Bali? You're not that desperate for unlimited portability are you Bundy?!

Travel will be restricted to 6 weeks for all DSP recipients on and after 1st Jan 2013. I suggest you ring Centrelink and ask them about travelling overseas and how many times a year you will be able to go. If you feel that you're not up to it, ring your local Welfare Rights office and ask them to represent you. If you have any problems get back to us. www.welfarerights.org.au/pages/centre.aspx

So over 70% of the responding members are going to give the new portability a miss. or at least considering it?

excuse my ignorance but how do we vote here? In most polls you are given a box to tick. I don't see any such feature.

Beats me, maybe you already voted and forgot, I know I did...
I'll be getting up a new poll soon anyway.

You think the Arak in bali is bad you should try it in East Java.... I hadn't had a drink for ages to,(but thanks to c/l I had one or..) so long that I was drunk after 2 long necks.....But that just got me started, I forget how many beers I had & buy the time I started on shots of Arak it tasted like strawberrys not like petrol. The only problem now is that I don't have the money to do it again, THANKS CENTRELINK, I was looking forward to drinking heavily again everyday, I had forgotten what it was like to be stress free

I'm curious what's happened with the people who did apply; have many actually been able to get UP? Or is the bar set so high no-one can really get over it?
Or has the threat of re-assessment and maybe being kicked off DSP altogether been enough to put people off applying after all?
