This is the way it's going, stay away too much and you will lose the pension. If you went on the DSP after 2006 you may need to be available for work place reassessment and retraining, which will restrict your travel outside of Australia even further. At all costs maintain your connection to Australia, Centrelink base residency on this, you need a residential address, not just a postal one and good family connections. Don't get a full time address in Asia or enter a steady relationship, you will need to prove to Centrelink that you don't live there in preference to Australia. Mmmm I can see troubles ahead Banjo, my only relative in the country is my wife and we are separated. I have just had a conversation with the International arm of Centrelink and they said as far as they knew, I could come and go from the country 4 times a year. When I questioned about being tied to a return date, they said provided I said I would be back within the 13 week deadline, that would be okay. Do they ask you for flight details?

In normal life we are innocent until proven guilty with C/L you are guilty and you must prove you are innocent.
Like I have been saying all along this crap has to be STOPPED.

Even the 4 times a year sounds like crap, what if you did 4 one week trips to Bali or NZ? You can't make a 5th trip even though you've only been out 4 weeks?
Banjo (enjoying the free internet at Swampy).

As has been said, they do seem to make it up as they go along, I get different answers from different people every time I ring up.

..well you can only get 4 x 13 week trips into one year after all it does = 52. Don't forget that Centrelink check you against the Immigration Departments' Incoming Data Base whilst you're on the phone with them. It is also a good idea to hold onto your Boarding Passes from your Outgoing/Incoming flights for future reference..also keep current your Driver's Licence, Medicare, Tax etc and any other ties you deem relevant ie doctor, accountant other than family seeing as you have no ther family members. Hope that helps. Regards to all. ROD.

That way it is a lot easier to go back to my passport and see dates and not have to keep track of boarding passes,

I have been told they do this to get rid of you as you are causing them work, also because they dont know the answer so they just tell you anything they want... That is why I keep telling people if your not happy with any decision they make appeal against it. Cheers Banker
