they never said anything when you call to inform them about your travel? pretty sure they look into the residence soon. spend more time in aussi from now on. get car and bills in your name. I didn't always call when I travelled. Maybe once or twice I did over the last two years. Both occasions they said it's fine. Though mostly I didn't. I didn't actually believe it was necessary as long as I stayed within the 13 week boundaries (which I akways did). No problems with it to date.

Hi Disme; welcome to the Forum and don't worry about all the overwhelming aspects ok mate; I was in the same boat as you were 1 year ago and hadn't ever heard of "IP" either. Most people here refer to it as Unlimited Portability and a few like me call it Indefinite Portability "UP or IP", it means exactly the same thing and allows you freedom of travel "Indefinitely" once you have been granted it mate. Once you have been granted "IP" then residency no longer becomes a problem, and it's as simple as that mate! Enjoy the forum mate. Thanks cheetal. I hope I can wade through it somehow. At least try to. And I'll keep giving updates as I go.

Your welcome love, and if you have any pressing questions then just PM me here and I'll get back to you; I've helped walk a few through the process privately, and it's always good to have someone to fall back on when the worry sets in:) Be Safe and God bless...

"in my eyes your only way to keep ur DSP is to return to australia. go back to the doctors and build up your case next 1-2years and than apply for UP." Tim I strongly disagree with this advice through personal experience. My dsp was cut off due to residency only 4 months prior to applying and receiving UP C/L do not look at your travel history if you are currently a resident when applying for UP. The only thing at that point that matters is whether or not you are sick enough. Exactly Z-Man, you've hit the nail one the head once again and I support your statements fully 100% I also wish to add Disme; that I changed doctors at the very end of my application process and had them filled out by my new one, virtually sight unseen; except for my supporting documentation and a letter from a JP who is a friend, which clarified my identity! So you can always change doctors if you feel their not up to the task love, and don't forget that all of your medical files are easily accessed on line by any doctor, as long as their not pre-computer records. I actually recommend calling all your medical files from previous doctors and hospitals into your current doctor, you only need fill out a form and they submit it. I did this and have my nearly complete medical history on CD; unfortunately only doctors have the software to open it, to negate fraudulent intervention. But I have it with me for future doctors and every file of and for C/L is also advisable to keep. Good luck and always remember you'll find most answers here with the Team:) Be Safe and God Bless...
