Update, contacted my doctors practice through an online medical site and he's been as useful as tits on a bull. Done some research online and going to take a stab at it from there. Seems my local doctor isn't too bothered about my health if there's nothing in it for him. Thanks for the comments guys.

Agreed. I use lyrica as pain relief. To buy them in asia it would cost $ 300/month PBS around $ 30 If i buy 6 months worth in Asia thats approx $1800 + other meds so around $2500 all up so I will be most surely maintaining my oz residency and pension card Hi Zorro just read you post re-cost of lyrica my doctor has just put me on them well has tried to as I'm always very skeptical of medications period for obvious reasons $1800 for 6 months supply omg. I've tried 1 lot and they just make me feel drowsy so bugger that so its back to the massage parlors for me 240 pesos or 120 pesos by this old duck whom I'd recommend

Its going to be interesting to see how many 6 month trips will eventually trigger the non residency rule and bye bye pension card. My current trip to oz has been a blessing as I have 2 doctors that wrote me $3600 of lyrica around (18mths)and I may have bent the system a bit but dont think there is anything illegal about 2 doctors writing the same script? not sure. Im confused about whether i should continue to maintain residency or not and even if I can maintain it at all.

As we are all Zorro, you younger guys need to be right on that, if it looks like that's what is going to happen you need to set aside a couple of months to stay in Australia and fight the decision. Part of being grandfathered was that you lost residency, which no one appeared to contest, but you guys are under a different system so you need to watch you don't get conned.

Good advice Banjo. the con factor is always ready to strike with C/L
Because I have a lifetime of pills to take its going to be a balancing act between airfares, accommodation versus buy on line. Time to put the back of the envelope away and get out the calaculator

I sent you a message about generic versions available in India and Bangladesh, I was wondering if they could be accessed in Burma.

I recently got a reg 24 prescription from my GP which allows me to get 5 months supply of meds on the PBS long may it continue
