I saw 34.95 on the Central Bank of Phils just now. With a slight drop in the USD.
With a small incremental raise from CL next week. Small being the operative word.

Even though the politicians try to tell folk that increases in pensions are not tied to CPI it is in fact tied to CPI. CPI for December quarter was about 1.7%. The previous September pension increase was based upon the June quarter CPI of 0.6%. I have budgeted for an exchange rate of 31.5pesos to the $AUD but I have only once dipped below 34. I think we will stabilize about 35 for a while. Just my opinion.

I don't really know, I'd just email them and say that you have no intentions to return at this time and doing so would cause you considerable expense and inconvenience and ask to be excused.
I'd have been inclined to ignore it.

to banjo, yeah i would like to ignore it but there are a couple of fines involved an if i dont pay them,i lose my driving license an then i have no international license an so therefore no insurance?? they want a stat dec signed here,so i have emailed them an told them to much problem an 6 hours to nearest embassy,so if they would like to pay for a return ticket i will oblige them!

Is this thread good for property rental discussion? I'm in the market for a 1 month rental in either Makati or AC. Cheers I'm looking at Gladstone, Qld but I think you can get Makati on here.

Yeah Bear it was are. the coffee gets to him at times. Was really good strong stuff with his local knowledge. I said they ARE like a cancer. And we are all trying to fix the symptoms of all our individual tumors while it's the cancer that needs a 100% total cure as it only continues to grow. I'll buy him a nescafe next visit. Back home now after the extra beer also got to me in the Mai. Cheers.

I finally get the chance to live in Pines on U.P. and now I'm trying to educate myself on visa options. The SRRV looks great but will test my finances due to the bank account deposit, $10g.US and also whether the Aust DSP will meet banks $1500 US deposit once C/L have fiddled with it and made reductions. I noticed a chap on this forum was getting a 6mth visa for about $200. The other visa is a marriage visa 13a I think but it's not an option in a deteriatted r/ship with my sons mother. Any advice will be appreciated, thanks.

The 6 months visa after the 29 days free you are granted..so it's 29 days plus 5 months. It's a bit over $200 AUD...roughly $350 but that would be a good start. 13 a is the long term solution but comes with many caveats. On the 13 a and the SRRV, there are charges for exiting the Phils. If you were exiting frequently or even once a year, the 6 month option is straight forward and easy.
