Yes Bangalore i had to go to immigration office in Manila and it`s pretty straight forward. Photo copy passport and fill in some particulars and wait around for a few hours and pay 14,500 pesos and you`re done. I am coming up to the 1 year mark living in Manila so i will inquire if i have to fly out and back to retain visa. Have to do this very soon and will keep everyone posted.

When ever some of you guys get frustrated and dismissive of other countries visa requirements spare a thought for the hoops people wishing to stay in Australia have to jump through. I've heard people complaining about how the number of free 30 day visa exemptions on arrival you can get are restricted in Thailand... try turning up in Australia without a visa.

Philippines BI has an outreach office at Gaissano Mactan Island Mall on Cebu and the longest part of the deal is filling out the form....

With one small proviso. Yes, fly out to Hong Kong on Cebu Pacific and come back on the same day, 9 PM. You must have in your hand another ticket for your next departure from the Phils, otherwise you can't board the flight in HK.

Do you need an actual ticket, or just an itinerary ? Either way, it's just a bit of paper. Make one yourself on a computer !
