so it might get pushed through but really depends on what else they want to push through before the senate resits. its pretty hostile in there so maybe it wont get looked at till next year. ..so what does that mean for us then? centrelink page says these new rules will be in affect from janurary 1 but it needs to pass senate first... nobody has any idea really

Welcome to the fourm.
Suspended, as much as Centrelink can ever be 100%
Be safe, ring and ask them before you book. International.

Thanks mate. Was a real bummer learning about this tonight, having been house ridden for the last 12 years I finally went overseas last month by myself and for the first time was able to be social.. had so many plans for next year until I saw this tonight! Crossing my fingers it's only a suspension.

I called CL international the other day and was advised that after the 28 days portability that the pension is suspended for 13 weeks before being canceled , you must advise then prior to departure and as soon as you return to be reinstated , I would ask for a receipt number for the call or some form of confirmation to be safe ... and I assume that DSPrs can leave anytime during the year for up to 13 weeks without payment , but that will be my next question for them

Also does anyone know the procedure for showing them that you booked a flight prior to the budget announcement so you can still get 6 weeks next year? Do you just need to take in a copy of the itinerary which shows the booking date ?

Our members have a remarkably high success rate and many are only too willing to advise other applicants.

I'm worried what will happen if I apply for that and they assess that I don't meet 20 points if it will then effect my normal DSP.

The easiast way to see if you qualify download a copy of the new impairment tables take it to your doctor and see if you have 20 points in one table to qualify for u/p banjo has posted a copy of the new tables in the forum so just download a copy and see what your doctor says
