I was just reminded once again why i choose to stay in thailand. Just went to Pai Monday market. 8 tomatoes cost 4 baht. 4 donuts cost 27 baht. 1 whole papaya cost 5 baht (small one). A buch of 15 banana's was 15 baht. total cost of 51 baht. =A$2.00. It costs less here than when I started work in Oz in the early 70's on $30.00 a week. It was unheard of for anyone to get $350.00 a week. Well that's what it's like here in Asia today. And every politician and every other Australian would choose the same thing if they were in the same situation. So why are they so mean spirited towards the disabled? Because it will never happen to them. Little do they know.

I was on $30.00 a week back in 1972. Today i get $350.00 a week. Then I was very poor but today i am rich. Alas $350.00 today in oz is eqivalent of about $20.00 a week in 1972. Sleep in a car and enjoy unless you are lucky enough to be disabled enough to get UP and to move to a country where the locals get $30.00 today. But I'm preaching to the already converted. Good luck to us.
