Hi everyone I just received a phone call from centrelink. They told me to attend an interview net thursday to talk about my employment. They said it is done every 12 months.
What is this interview and will they cancel my DSP.
I am currently working around 35 hours a fortnight.
They said they are going to update my participation plan.

G'day quantumranger. I have a 24yo nephew who only recently had his participation plan updated.
He has been on DSP twice and is currently on Newstart and is undergoing medical intervention for a return to DSP.
On his updated plan he doesn't have to look for work and is not working/participating due to his disabilites. As you are already working 35hrs.per fortnight I personally don't think you have anything to be concerned about.
I think it's just procedure....sort of like a mini review.
Cheers bear

There's not a lot you can do, go and see them and if they start talking about taking you off the DSP ask them what your options are. Maybe tell them you want it as a safety net in case you cannot cope with the workload.

l guess everyone gets nervous and expects the worst when they get called up for a centrelink interview, but it often doesn't turn out too bad. If they do try to take away your DSP remember you can always appeal and get welfare rights for help

I got a call last year and worried about going but it was to just check my details were all the same and see how I was going. Not sure if that is the same for you tho.

It was all good. Wasted an hour of my life. The centrelink person said you can't work over 15 hours a week. And I said I was told 60 hours a fortnight. And this discussion continued until she called her boss and she was corrected.
I asked her to exit me from my DSP provider. But she didn't. She said you don't have to go to their appointments so it's alright.
But its better if they exit me because they keep making me appointments that I don't even attend as they lied to me about getting mobility allowance saying I am eligible for it when I am perfectly fit to travel.

I'm glad you got it sorted out.
I'm amazed that the officer conducting the interview wasn't aware you could work 60 hours a fortnight, in fact it really worries me... how many other people has she told this who could have worked more hours and maybe moved into full-time employment?
I'm uncomfortable with you not being allowed to exit from your service provider, it could easily cause problems if they keep asking you to come in for interviews. I'd certainly be taking it further, or at least finding out why you can't.
