The federal government is developing a new plan to get more people with a disability into jobs. Assistant Social Services Minister Mitch Fifield on Monday announced a new taskforce would be set up to create an employer-focused disability jobs system to come into effect in 2018. Senator Fifield says he will consult with the industry first but has promised "something that actually works" to overhaul an over-regulated, billion-dollar government program. www.9news.com.au/national/2015/04/27/13/33/new-disability-jobs-plan-from-2018

Should be a lot of good paying jobs for DSP folk on that taskforce!

How many jobs or the disabled will this create? The liberals want to kick half or 400,000 people off the DSP with their McClure welfare reforms so l hope their disabled jobs program provides 400,000 jobs if they go ahead with the MClure welfare reforms

The fact remains that there are very few jobs out there and disabled people will still be competing with able bodied people for the available jobs. Call me a cynic but whenever I hear nonsense like this news article all I think of is more "training" (making a resume at CRS or HETA), work for the dole or the renamed green army which was conceived during the Howard years.

Should be a 10% quota in the public service for people with disabilities. I doubt that's going to happen.

Yes its just a gimmick or publicity stunt that will create a token number of temporary jobs to fool the public into thinking they are helping the disabled get jobs , probably in an attempt to try to justify to the public the mClure reofrms which would see many moved off the DSP and forced to look for non- existant jobs
