Searching the AAT appeal cases I come across this again.
The Tribunal rejects his submission as the settled law is that the Respondent (Centrelink) owes no legal duty (either pursuant to statute or at common law) to give advice to claimants.
So it's your responsibility to find out for yourself, Centrelink are not obliged to advise you on anything.

It also means they can choose to give advice if they want. So, two people can ask the same question of clink and they can be given two different answers. I wonder if this also applies to financial advice.
