These "pain management" people they plan to send pensioners to could be bad news. I think we better watch some of their creds as well.

Yes. But even my Osteopath, who for two years was restraigtening my pelvis when it twisted, putting my neck back into place, and who sometimes who hear me almost cry as he massaged pain out of me, while treating me with accupunture for the stress I was suffering, had no idea how bad I was until he saw inside my body. I took the CT and X-Rays films to show him, on the day I had asked him to fill in the Treating Doctors Report.
Once he saw that I did have visible causes of my pain, he wrote up a TDR for me that we both thought there was no way C/L could discount, and yet they did.
He apologised to me for not realising what a mess I was, and pointed out that all the muscles had pulled away from my spine, below my right shoulder, and said that it was classic rhuematoid athritis damage. I guess he had no idea prior, because a person less determined to work than I was, would not have been working with that injury, for as long as I did.
So will these people employment agencies also have the power to send us for Xrays and scans? I am sure they won't, so it will be up to us to organise them ourselves. In the end, they are the only results that C/L cannot deny, and so we will have to instead cost the country a fortune in expensive scans, until we get the proof we need.

When the JCA officer decided at our interview to send me for a neck motion test (my neck was not seized up at the time), she had to find a local physio company to send me to. Her company had only recently set up their local office, a room rented off my disability employment service, so they did not have one in place yet.
My neck and body kindly seized right up again, and when I attended the test, I could hardly turn my neck, barely lift my arms, was walking with a limp, and in massive amounts of pain. I was looking very glum and didn't say much. The Physiotherapist finally asked me what was wrong. I replied that 'they keep sending me back to work. They will do it again this time too' and I burst into tears.
She replied that I should not worry, that she would help me. It was obvious to us both that I had achieved a very low motion score. The JCA had already told me that a low score would gain me the DSP. So I left there with some hope.
A couple of weeks later, the JCA phoned to say I was not sick enough for DSP. I went to the Physio company and asked if I could have a copy of their report. They told me that I would have to come back a week later, when the assessor had returned from a trip, and ask her. They also said the report is the property of the company who paid for it, the JCA company, and so they probably did not have the right to give me a copy. I reluctantly left without it.
When I got home, the copies of all of my JCA reports came in the mail. I saw that the JCA assessor, had written that I had not worked for six months, and that even that was just an attempt at a job for a couple of weeks and I didn't like it (working). She attributed that statement to the Physiotherapist. She pretended that I had said that to the Physio assessor and she had repeated it in her neck motion report. (I had been fired two weeks earler, for calling in sick with a migraine and later found I had also slipped the discs in my back working there.)
I rang the Physio company and advised that they might like to change their mind about giving me a copy of their report. I advised that I would be lodging a complaint with the Ombudsman about their report, and the lie that it contained. I explained that I didn't really think that their Phsyiotherapist had written it, but since the JCA officer said that she did, it was them who would be named in the complaint. They printed out a copy of their report forthwith and I was allowed to go and pick it up. I saw that their Physiotherapist had made no mention at all of my employment status, past or present.
She had also written, 'that in a less stressful scenario, TB's pain and restrictions of movement would not be as bad as it was today'. She meant that if I was not being forced to work as a cleaner, a lot of it would go away.
So, this girl had promised to help me. Someone she saw was in immense pain, and being forced to work while on the verge of physical and emotional collapse. Would that have been the case, had the JCA company been sending clients to them on a regular basis? I doubt it.
Another interesting issue was that during the test when I mentioned pain occuring in other parts of my body, as I moved my neck, she stated she was not allowed to comment on any other part of my body, as she was only to examine my neck. She could not mention that I could not lift my arms, shoulders or the limp.
I guess that is fair enough, when I had applied for DSP based on my neck arthritis and migraines, that they only tested my neck. But come on, to be able to use that as an excuse to ignore the rest of the condition of my body, is just crap.
* I later emailed a copy of the JCA report to the Physiotherapist, and apologised for 'carrying on at them' to get a copy of their report. Her response after reading the JCA's report on me: "I can see why you would have been upset".
I contacted the same Physio company when I applied for DSP the second time, asking for their permission to use the report as part of its 'evidence'. They agreed. I also listed the Physiotherapist as being a person able to be contacted to confirm my condition, but no one rang her.

WAKE UP AUSTRALIA! THE GOVERNMENT IS FALSIFYING AND PLAYING GAMES WITH YOUR MEDICAL INFORMATION, TO DENY YOU DSP.
More and more people have no savings, because many people were no longer being paid the award wage, severance pay or compensation after John Howard's workplace reforms.
Many businesses in Australia closed their doors here, and reopened them overseas, to increase their profit.
More and more people are becoming ill from the stress of this modern society and the pollution it contains.
The superannuation company's were allowed to loose everyone's nest eggs.
Now they blame us for it all. Our unemployment, illnesses and lack of money in the bank.

not sure where to post this. Today under breaking news Breaking News Disability services need overhaul - report www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/breaking-news/disability-services-need-overhaul-report/story-e6freuyi-1226106192890THE Productivity Commission has urged the federal government drastically change the way it provides long-term care to the disabled. The commission has been examining Australia's disability support system since April last year and submitted its final report to the government yesterday. "The report proposes significant change to the way disability services are provided in Australia," Families Minister Jenny Macklin said in a statement today. It is understood to include the implementation of a no-fault national disability insurance scheme slated to start in 2015 following a one-year trial in Victoria, Fairfax reported. The $6.3 billion a year scheme would provide long-term care and support to anyone who acquires a significant disability - one of the key recommendations in the commission's draft report, released in February. Ms Macklin did not comment further on the commission's final recommendations, although she acknowledged broad change was needed. "Our disability services system is simply not providing the kind of care or support we want to see for some of our most vulnerable people, and reform is necessary," she said. The commission initially received 610 submissions from stakeholders and another 452 after the draft report was released.
