I had been a f/t carer up until recently and now have plenty of free time. I get DSP and thinking about getting in to Ubering or something similar, cash in hand would be ok...any thoughts,,!!

We can not recommend The cash In Hand if you receive money it has to be declared to centrelink Unfortunately these are the rules

Anyone on DSP can work up to 30 hrs but if you were to be reviewed you would be assessed under the 15hrs a week or less threshold (unless you have a manifest grant).
Before considering uber check if your insurance will allow for carrying paying customers and maybe look at whether it os actually going to generate any income.
With centrelink any business income (including uber as you would be self employed) is declared via a profit and loss report. In all honesty, it is often better to look for a salaried part time role because you also need to consider.other insurances and whether you wish to run your own business.

Uber have to compensate for the payments so as to get their commission so you may be getting cash in hand, but it does leave an audit trail. It is also moraly wrong.

Hello Bear I often drop by and browse through the board, i just don't post much. Then before you know it, a couple of months have passed. Things are good my friend, had a few health issues but i'm on top of them now and hopefully fighting fit. Glad to see you all seem well, Banjo is still doing a great job with the board and sadly, CentreLink has not changed and are still so difficult to deal with.
