That was the cold harsh reality of being on Newstart at the time, between that and the food vans everything worked out just fine, life has a way of teaching you a few lessons when needed and to appreciate the good times.... Cheers Itsa Aint that the truth. Amen, amen, amen to that!

People that have mortgages don't get the rent assistance, yet they have housing payments. Seems to me that Clink don't mind if people are giving to a landlord, then they will give out housing/rent assistance. just another thing that is wrong, because we ALL need to keep a roof over our heads.
Perhaps they should call it "Housing Allowance" so those that have to pay for housing, whether it be mortgage or otherwise can get assistance with an allowance to try to keep the roof over their heads.

Yes but that just makes too much sense! They don't like doing anything that is A) fair, and B) makes sense!! I totally agree with you on this one

I learned to appreciate what I had particularly after going to India and volunteering there. So hard to compare, but my saying when I got back was , we are not a third world country here in Australia, but we shouldn't get complacent about things either! Just looked at the link... oh my goodness.... so lovely, it makes me so happy to see wonderful views like that. From my living area in the evening I can see the sunset, takes my breath away, it isn't a huge vista, but I truly appreciate and am thankful for what I have. Just very disgruntled with clink for trying to deny me a dsp when they say we look after those with disabilities.. rubbish!

It is hit and miss for me, but I really appreciate the support with my approaching hearing. Not overly confident, but will keep optimistic and not fall into a heap hopefully this time if rejected again.
