Good morning everyone,
The good news is that my application for the OAP was approved, that only took 4 weeks, no problems.
Of course because I have some funds in the bank that the ATO didn't get, so I get a part pension, nothing wrong with that I will do some travelling in due course to whittle that away. My question this morning is whether I have to be in Australia to apply for portability, or can I call international services from the country I am in to apply?
Thanks all,

Morning onemore having OAP you have UP automatically. You do though need to advise of your travel plans if going for more than six weeks. Cheers bear When to tell us your travel plans You need to tell us you’re leaving Australia if you: are going to live in another country will be away for more than 6 weeks get payments under a social security agreement with another country came back to live in Australia within the last 2 years and started getting Age Pension since then Otherwise you don’t need to tell us about your travel. The immigration department will tell us when you leave and return. www.humanservices.gov.au/individuals/enablers/age-pension-if-you-travel-outside-okaustralia/31171
