I've been lurking for a while. Posting just to say hi and introduce myself. I may have questions in the near future and want to be ready to go.
For now, I'm a bit less than 50, female, and a migrant. I'm on Newstart with a DES provider. I've started the process to document my disability but I still have a long trek before me. My conditions are mostly mental health problems which makes it hard to get them confirmed.
I don't want to say any more for anonymity I just wanted to introduce myself.

Welcome to the Forum tallgirl It's a long arduous journey but people do win out in the end if they get their ducks lined up in the right order. If you haven't already seen the tables related to mental health or how they are applied and interpretated; only too happy to post and discuss them with you. Cheers bear

Welcome also tallgirl. You will need to be determined to get DSP but you will if you are. Good luck and take it slowly and make sure as bear says, line up all the duck's information. Probably more like geese though where Centrelink is concerned.

Welcome to the forum tallgirl. I was reading on facebook that rejection rates are at about 72% due to the austerity measures of the LNP. The ALP have become liberal Lite so don't expect much difference if they happen to form government next year.(can't believe they recently refused to raise newstart)
If your in for a fight you may just conquer, but you'll need some steely determination.
Good luck and a happy festive season.

Yes good luck,I ended up in the watch house because of my frustration, and will be going to court for trespassing at centrelink So if you're at Centrelink on Centrelink business and a Centrelink officer deems you to be becoming frustrated and your asked to leave and don't;.....they call the cops and you are then deemed by them as trespassing! Is that how this went down anklspon? If so it's ludicrous; because I wouldn't imagine Centrelink staff have had training to determine issues such as frustration, unless you were becoming agitated or were acting over the top. I do however consider they may have had training to cause frustration and it's attendant effects; and for the sole purpose of having people such as yourself referred to the police and courts. These type of actions are what I believe in the legal community are known as "Entrapment", for no other reason than to cause the disadvantaged even more disadvantage. Absolutely despicable; cheers bear

Centrelink is a politically influenced frustrating hellhole so id' imagine this happens all the time. Avoid CL as much as possible.

yes I have been barred for going into Centrelink for years, out of my frustration I wanted to meet the new manager, which I did,I then politely ask if I could use the toilet, she said no ,but I had to, people suffering from an athritic autoimmune illness understand this, two police cars rocked up,three police officers, they were understanding enough and even said thanks for the civil conversation, after that I had been verbally abusive on the phone, that I admit, but after eight years I'm worn down,

Yes have you noticed they don't any have toilets at any centrelink centres for centrelink clients to use , the toilets that are there are for staff only. Almost everywhere public has to wait has toilets like dentists, hospitals , cafes and so on except centrelink. l asked someone once and they said its because they are afraid centrelink clients might use drugs in the toilets the reason they don't have any, l don't if that's true but my guess it is, with the prejudice there is against people on centrelink payments

BS, or not I don't know.

I have and can use the toilets at Centrelink offices I go to so much be some and not others. Typical I guess like their rules. No uniformity. I once asked a question to a manager who just lied through her teeth as she escorted me out the door even though I did not do anything other than quietly ask a question. Was just another reason why I am certain it was a criminal cover-up in my case. I was eventually vindicated but these criminal liars are immune from prosecution. So many of these vile people at Centrelink. Not all but many.

Have seen the same lights all over the place - years ago when I used to go out to nightclubs they were there and have also seen them in hospitals
