And that would not be good over there! Your not wrong about that bear. Many towns and cities, including my town of Argao, have even banned smoking cigarettes in public. Though I saw a report the other day that a Philippine Politician has or is going to introduce legislation authorising the use of medical marijuana.

Are the drug killings still going on denis? Seen no news on that topic for ages. Still on the news here every night where another person has been caught, I reckon the killings has stopped after those officers were convicted for killing the young boy who was innocent, or maybe in true Philippine style it is going unreported. I don't reckon that the young nurse who got community service for having drugs concealed inside her would have received the same leniency here. Maybe, just maybe the Philippines will follow the example of Australia and have a referendum or some such rubbish, and go for drug testing to make sure it is safe for people to use the drugs. Or could it be just a way to trim the population, like the bike helmet laws which prior to being introduced got rid of the very stupid people.

Denis if they have enough brains to legalize 'cannabis" the country (philippines) will thrive and rise above the rest.

Are the drug killings still going on denis? Seen no news on that topic for ages. nomadicFor what it is worth my 2 bobs on an overview of the drug problems here. The biggest problem they had or have is or was what they call 'shabu' which is 'meth'. Apart from the effect on users and those that encounter those users was the rampant corruption and facilitation from some folk in the upper reaches of different government departments. Massive money and debilitating to the rule of law. Some years ago I read a report that most of the meth coming in was from China and I would think that nobody knows how much fentanyl is getting in here. But on election the current Prez set out to wipe out corruption and he started at the bottom to work his way up to the top of the cartels. I have noticed that he is reported to have some form of cancer and was recently reported to have said that he has smoked marijuana around the same time as talk of legalizing medical marijuana. But look, I know nothing. onemore or others may be able to give you deeper info. I just keep my head down and enjoy life to the best of my ability. Cheers mate. Denis

bearThanks for that because I had wondered where the impetus had come from with the current Philippine moves which I gathered will probably be the same as Thailand. The ASEAN countries have made a general agreement to try to co-ordinate different types of legislation in harmony with each other and that Thai and Phils would look to act in tandem is a good sign. Singapore and Malaysia seem to be the most draconian for marijuana. One thing we do have better than Thai bear is the Visa system.
