At the moment the $AU is trading around 36 pesos not good at all it's taken a hammering in the last few weeks at present rates the fare has set me back $AU1061 it will get more expensive as the year goes.
A little bit expensive I guess but with a good Airline and little waiting times.
Cheers Itsa

Yeah, looks ok with the red wine and meal, movie, and short transit times etc. I think I must have been up the creek as I use to think the peso and baht were similar but baht now only around 22 = A$. Hope you get an A380 also as it is the only thing I have ever equated to no jet lag. They say the 737 dream liner also but never been on one.

Cheers Itsa First time I went to the Philippines the rate was 27pesos to the AUD, it changed to 43 virtually overnight. The Australian pensioners and veterans living there could not believe their luck, it was like a 50% pay rise. That was about 2002.

Off topic and irrelevant to the Philippines, but AirAsia have flights from Chiang Mai-Brisbane return at the moment for around Bht 12,000.
CNX-DMK-BNE. The stopover at Don Mueang is a couple of hours outbound; and varies widely on the return. Cheers bear

A mate of mine booked a flight from Sydney to Manila with Philippine airlines paid about $900 aussie dollars, which I told him he would live to regret.
The flight was 3 hours late arriving in Sydney and on the way to Manila stopped off in Darwin to refuel, which I still don't understand, anyway he know now that for the price he could have paid a couple of hundred more and got full service, rather than 8 hours of staring at seat in front of him as there was no entertainment of any kind onboard the flight. You only get what you pay for it seems.

Flew 3 times from BKK to MEL via Manila with Philippines airlines and no problems with good flight times. They even put me in a 5-star hotel one time for a stopover. But it was about 10 years ago.

Hi Dennis, I'm not sure if this is to late and sorry I missed this , I been so busy with my UP application but you can easily get a ticket to Singapore from cebu starting at 120 Singapore dollers with both scoot air or Philippines air Asia.
The fares do go up a little if your booking in a week or two late so if you can book at least 3 weeks ahead that's better but they don't go up much only up to 150 because other wise most Filipinos could not afford it because air Asia has alot of the workers abroad . There are sales some times but I'm not familiar when they are you could call them .
From Singapore you can get dirt cheap Singapore to Darwin for 120 one to two weeks in advance is better but that flight is always on sale they what more people on that flight and it's often bit empty the plane so they might stop that one day . Other wise Singapore to cairns is popular and gets over the 200 mark, another option is cebu to KL then KL to Perth that can be cheap also but it depends on how bust the flight is that's when the price goes up but you can get air Asia KL ( Kuala Lumpur) to Perth for 99 on a sale.
It's tricky some times and I'm not the expert but it's all about picking the sales and you can do that by getting on there email list , cebu.to Singapore to Darwin is the quickest way you can do it but the flight from cebu to Singapore can be risky because your flying over that tropical sea lots of random storms and the plain shakes a bit it's really scary but it's only 2 hours same with Singapore to Darwin it's only about 2 hours then you have to hang in Changi airport for a few hours then you can get out of Darwin to where ever the next day that's what I usually do.
Some people get a return ticket which Singapore air for around 700 I think they book that in advance I'm sure they would then they can relax and from cairns to cebu stopping in Singapore. The price goes up as the seats fill up and it depends on how popular the route is and who the customers are for example air Asia cebu to Singapore services mainly the Filipina workers so it's always no higher than 150.
Really depends on where you want to go in australia also , and then there is the sales, jets star has a thing where they email you the flights your watching and air Asia has something like that to , bit of info hope it helps . Where did you want to get to ?
