"In a camp oven." It's both a statement and a question to you Denis-NFA. Yuummmeeee! Cheers bear[/quote] LOL Nah. The camp oven thingy was for cooking up 'roo' stew but my Dad pioneered that for me. Nothing beats billy tea! I know this is off topic but they used to sell in Coles and Woolworths 25kg bags of flour for use in electric breadmakers. And the yeast. You could get a cheap electric breadmaker for stuff all if you hunted around. But 'damper' was grand.

Did someone mention homebrew? I've been brewing my own since 1992, 540 batches and counting. I started off with the Cooper's kits but have been brewing all-grain for a few years using the brew in a bag method in a 40 litre Crown urn. It's mother's milk and a tonne better than the commercial slops they call beer. Even better it costs around 30 cents a schooner.

Gee, I thought rainy days thread had gone off topic but here we have gone from insurance to damper and now home brew. And this time I'm innocent. May have a commercial variety brew tonight to celebrate. NO not may. WILL!

Blow your head off but tasted foul. Coopers did much to promote home brewing. I have a mad cousin that perfected brew in Coca Cola cans. DM me your current recipe please

Like I mentioned elsewhere.....I am as guilty as anyone for going off topic, here again as well.
However I have been doing some training as insurance, under the auspices of a rather renowned moderator from another place. This may prove to be a good thing, but maybe not for threads going off topic. This guy is brutal, I'm going to try my best to follow his lead.
Some decorum or we may as well call it a day!

I mean I have at least a dozen core recipes. From light Lawn Mower Ales/Lagers (around 3.8% ABV) to strong American IPAs at around 9% ABV. The strongest I've ever made was a Dopplebock which was 13.5% ABV many years ago.

Bear, don't worry as soon as the OP replies we'll get back on topic. Less stress more beer!
