This work by German Lutheran pastor Martin Niemöller grows more relevant every day.
First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

The right has long worked hard to turn people against minority groups. It's called smoke and mirrors, look look at the bad pensioner living it up on your taxes, look look at the bad immigrant taking your jobs... so people aren't looking at corrupt businesses and politicians stealing the country blind. Wise and very true words. The politicians via the media have the power to direct peoples minds exactly where they want them to go. The pen is indeed far mightier than the sword.

I'm in the process of applying for NDIS assistance.
Will update how good or bad it works out for me.
Like everything it's a slow process but luckily for me my worker seems switched on.
I'm hopeful of receiving at the very least subsided transport assistance.
I'll elaborate once funding is confirmed

lm thinking of applying for the NDIS, the main reason l want to is if they could help me get a part time job or perhaps arrange a job in a business for me, IS that something the NDIS can do, l know DES and jobnetworks are supposed to do that but they are pity deadful and dont do much to help you

Thanks, lm under 65 , lm 50. l think the NDIS doesnt help you get a job but provides help for you in your job , is that correct so l think l would have to use DES to help me get a job not the NDIS

It would very much depend on what goals you had defined in your plan once your application was acceptrd bunyip. Like dsp, my suggestion would be to gather up any reports or information you have in relation to your disability- the more recent the better. Many people are also finding it necessary to go to an occupational therapist to assist with their NDIS application, to have the wording done in the right way A badly done NDIS application that is then rejected and needs to be revieewed and appealed does noone any good Unlike a DSP claim, there can only be one claim/review/appeal 'open' at a time, so they deserve to be as good as possible.

l was wondering what percentage of people on the DSP are also on the NDIS, so just being on the DSP which means you have a permanent disability doesnt mean you also qualify for NDIS. l dont understand why some disabled people would qualify for the NDIS and others dont, is it based on how serious you disabilties are, is the NDIS more for people who need a carer and not indepdant, for example if you can drive a car, go shopping, dress and feed yourself you would not qualify

hi Bunyip - having a permanent disability is only one of the qualifiers for NDIS. Its more about how the disabilities affect you (as with DSP) and whether the things that are affected are not covered by medicare or private health insurance (including mental health plans, chronic health plans and free community programs).
The NDIS application goes through formal and informal supports that you have... you can still apply if you can drive but would be less 'dependent' on the NDIS for mobility needs than someone that doesnt. However there are other sections of the NDIS such as social, self care etc and there are levels of needs. Your needs may be due to a physical, intellectual, or mental health disability, but (like with DSP) it must be diagnosed. Unlike DSP, however, there is not the income limit for assistance, which is why people who work 'may' be on NDIS but not DSP, or people who have a partner who works may be on NDIS.

I’m on the NDIS and DSP with I/P, my current two year NDIS plan was for a total of $161,000. I submitted two IME reports I had done for my mental health and was accepted with that alone for NDIS.

You have to get quotes to utilise any service and they have to be an Australian registered business who are NDIS approved and quote using NDIS codes and figures. Although has some great benefits to use inside Australia.
