Thanks Bear, I'm only just tossing around Idea's in my head at the moment. timber, re the O-A visa: With the insurance the consensus around the traps here is; the insurance is virtually worthless, so therefore the visa is as well. On the list of approved companies though, one, LMG; when taking a high deductible will cost up to Aud $ 500 per year, depending on age. That's quite similar in price to the travel insurance I had for the two years. While you have to meet the financial requirements for the O-A, as previously stated it can be met with the combination method and with no need to have money in an overseas account. Personally I haven't totally discounted the O-A as yet, especially when requirements for other avenues are considered in depth; as the first year is multi entry so you can come and go as often as you like for the first year. Go for a weekend away just prior to expiry and return before.....stamped in for another full year. You then need to purchase either a single or multi Re-Entry permit if you want to go outside the country in that second year. Of course when the dust finally settles on this virus thing, there may be a whole raft of completely new visas and hoops. Cheers bear List of Approved Health Insurance Companies for O-A visa. longstay.tgia.org/
