Typhoon evacuees in the Philippines told they still need to practice social distancing People in the Philippines who have evacuated their homes to shelter from Typhoon Vongfong still need to follow social distancing in evacuation centres, according to an article in the state-run Philippine News Agency.Typhoon Vongfong, the first named storm of the 2020 season in the Western Pacific, made landfall in the Philippines around noon local time on Thursday. It forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of people in a country under coronavirus lockdown. At least 200,000 people live in coastal areas near the affected area on the island of Samar in the Eastern Visayas region. To make sure people can still adhere to social distancing, emergency evacuation centres are cutting their capacity by half. Families inside will need to huddle together to maintain safe distances from other households. Local officials will enforce these guidelines inside the centres, according to presidential spokesman Harry Roque. The storm is now a minimal typhoon with winds of 120 kph (75 mph). It will move through the Luzon region over the next 24 to 48 hours. The Philippines has officially recorded nearly 12,000 coronavirus cases, including at least 790 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University. 7news.com.au/news/disaster-and-emergency/typhoon-evacuees-in-the-philippines-told-they-still-need-to-practice-social-distancing-c-1040756

Yes, shows again that most of us have nothing to moan about. Stay safe everyone. Luckily very few big storms for us in Thailand and never seen anything like Vietnam & Philippines get on a regular basis. Floods in OZ? Never. But they will moan when gutters overflow.

Typhoons, Covid-19, What next Liqueur bans Nah couldn't handle that would surely put the tin hat on thing's here Omg Saw a post on Farcebook the other day itsmylife08. Whilst not making light of it, they did seem to have a point....... Australia has had; Drought, Bushfires, Floods, Duststorms, Hailstorms with Ice the size of talents and now Plague. Major locust plagues in Africa not seen since biblical times so, we would seem to only require darkness for three days and killing of firstborn children for it to be time for the sky to open like a curtain.and the movie to start. Just a thought; cheers bear. www.express.co.uk/news/weird/1092022/Locust-plague-egypt-bible-end-of-the-world-locusts-swarm-10-plagues-egypt

Cecil b. d. mills i believe bear. Locusts in Pakistan I just saw yesterday also. What next? Last night best meal in ages after a Dutch guy who can't leave either took us in his BMW to a magnificent scenery, seaside restaurant. But no beer even if I wasn't off it as none allowed in restaurant. So 3 saddies and me not caring. Yes, you never know what next. P.S. what difference did it make with no beer on the table? Ok, he drove back sober.

But he didn't want to be responsible. He wanted a beer and being Thailand he should have been able to drive home after having one. And even the passengers were 100% sober. One of best meals ever but with no booze I couldn't give it a 10. And was too dark to enjoy the views. Sorry but nothing better to growl about as yet on a Monday morning. Other 3 went to another restaurant last night for pizza and where beer will flow also but i had a 7/11 microwave meal in room. Go figure when one restaurant obeys the rules and another not. But rule itself is illogical anyhow. 3 falang having a meal with a glass of water instead of a beer will stop the virus. Only a politician could come up with that one.
